Barcode-Paseo del Mar — Restaurant in Zamboanga City

I don’t normally do reviews but i find myself wanting to log in to google just to give this review.

Came here super hungry from a tour and ordered 1 sizzling blue marling belly, 1 sizzling bulalo steak, and 1 bird’s nest soup, 3 scoops of rice to be shared by me and my girlfriend.

Price - food were all for sharing and it cost us 750+ for all items mentioned. A bit on the pricey side but still bearable.

Serving - we are a group of 19 and it was dinner time so restau was hectic. Orders were misplaced, some items took a lot longer to arrive than others

Taste - absolutely horrible. You’ll wonder if the cool tasted the food before serving as they were all too salty.

Bird’s nest soup was salty and you can’t even see and taste the “bird’s nest” it was loaded with shredded chicken bits and egg that did not at all improve the taste

Sizzling bulalo was not even sizzling when served. Gravy was overwhelmingly sweet and salty. The beef doesn’t even have bone marrow and was all bone, meat, and tendon. Why offer “bulalo” without bone marrow? No sense at all

Sizzling blue marlin belly was shown as grilled on the picture. Upon serving, we were shocked to see a battered and deep fried fish belly that was swimming in oil and liquid seasoning, slapped into a sizzling plate with a side of corn kernels. We couldn’t even finish the dish as it was really bad. Some of our companions who ordered the same dish were left with the same disappointment upon eating this.

I would never eat here again and I would not recommend anyone...

My place in Zamboanga City feeling safe and sound. Foods and drinks are ok and waiters are attentive. Enjoyed and amused by the comics of Lando Bisaya. Once instance that I forgot my Samsung Note 3 and thought that it was pick up by someone. Good it was kept by the waiter and entrusted to their cashier upon my return and asking it back. All foods are very salty. Birds nest soup doesn’t taste like one, malabnaw. Blue marlin belly tasted like liquid seasoning. Bulalo tasted like buttered liquid seasoning. We spent almost 800 for 2 pax since we came here very hungry but cant finished any of our order. Expensive but...
