Yesterday, we visited the Nosal ski resort in Zakopane. My husband and I booked a ski instructor for two, as we are complete beginners, and we also arranged a separate instructor for our daughter. Unfortunately, the reception staff didn’t inform us that we needed to purchase ski passes for everyone in advance, even though I explained that it was our first time and we were unfamiliar with the rules. As a result, we had to waste our paid lesson time looking for the ticket office, which was located downstairs. Navigating the stairs in ski boots was both difficult and time-consuming.
As for the lesson itself, it was disappointing. The instructor, noticing that my husband was picking up skiing faster, took him up the slope, leaving me alone on the beginner training area at the base. I was struggling to stand properly and brake on skis, but the instructor provided no assistance. For nearly the entire lesson, I was left on my own. It was only at the end of the session, after my husband asked him to return to help me, that the instructor came back for just a few minutes before announcing that our time was up. If instructors cannot handle teaching two people at the same time, why is this service even offered? We paid for a lesson for two, but in reality, I was left to fend for myself. This was very disappointing.
But we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to the instructor Jan, who worked with our daughter. He is a true professional! Jan quickly built rapport with her, explained everything clearly, and gave her his full attention throughout the lesson. In just one session, he not only got her comfortable on skis but also taught her how to ski down the slope without poles — confidently, quickly, and skillfully. His excellent English skills and ability to work with children left a strong impression on us.
Nosal is a wonderful ski resort, but your experience largely depends on the instructor. Thank you, Jan, for your high level of professionalism and personalized approach! If you are looking for an instructor for children, we highly...
Read moreI am writing to share my extremely disappointing experience. The level of service and the policies in place are utterly unacceptable.
Firstly, the staff were incredibly unfriendly and unprofessional. From the moment we arrived, we were met with rude behavior and a complete lack of assistance. This is not what I expect from a ski resort that claims to be reputable.
Secondly, I was outraged to find out that I am not allowed to teach my own child to ski on the slope. This policy is absurd and completely disregards the importance of parental involvement in a child's learning process. It is both frustrating and disappointing.
Moreover, the fact that we had to pay just to use the slope, without even using the lift, is nothing short of a money grab. This policy is unreasonable and places an unnecessary financial burden on families who simply want to enjoy the slopes.
Overall, my experience was a complete disaster. I urge the management to seriously reconsider their policies and improve their customer service. Until then, I will not be returning and will advise others to avoid...
