I was looking forward to my visit but I'm rather disappointed. Yes, it is an impressive building with lots of stores, but not very practical for actual shopping.

There is no map or store directory available anywhere - these should be at each entrance. Because of the building design it is confusing to find anywhere specific without just walking every metre of every floor. The shops need to be listed by category and we need a map! I suspect this has been done on purpose to make sure everybody spends more time wondering around and so pass by more stores - NOT a good plan in Covid times, or for anyone who is just short of time.

There are some signs overhead, but only for the biggest stores and I suspect they must pay extra for this service. I tried following signs to the customer service desk but I never found it and ended up going around in circles. After one hour I left without finding what I needed.

The toilets were not very numerous, quite difficult to find and they were dark and cramped and not particularly clean. Also, there were very few places to sit and rest, so there were groups of people sitting down on the floor making it difficult to pass by - again, I suspect a ploy to force more people into the food court. I would hate to be an elderly person trying to get around here!

I think they just tried too hard to make this place look impressive without thinking about the people who would actually use it each day. In summary - by all means come here to look and stroll if you need to pass some time, but for real shopping - go somewhere smaller or...

Colombo is a huge shopping center, all included! Central location, good accesses, aesthetically very nice, long opening hours (10:00-24:00), all big national and internationals stores are present... you can find everything you need there! It’s a place all new stores and tests are made. Nice space, well distributed, A lot of natural light, clean, safe. It has an open air area, to relax, for kids and very nice to smokers! It’s Bug and not difficult to get lost... you have screens to find what you need. Very close to Benfica Stadium ... do good if you want to shop and your husband go to football (or the opposite :)) ... confusing in days of Football games. The restaurant area is not as attractive as the rest of the areas, and might be very confusing at lunch time, the cleaning is not always perfect in the comum areas. But there are a few restaurants more quite, separate from the community area... might be a bit more expensive, but it worth if you want to have some rest. A lot of diversity, so all can find an option. Children/baby’s friend, has a smell area to heat the food of your baby and all toilets have changing area and children dedicated bathroom. Animals are not allowed (except guiding dogs). Big parking area with 3 floors... easy to get lost. Take a picture of you car place or take a small card from the machines available, to make it easier to find your car back.

During my stay in Lisbon, I decided to spend some free time on a Friday afternoon at the Colombo shopping mall. For those like me relying on public transport, the mall is easily accessible via the blue metro line, with the Military College/Luz station situated right next to it. Inside the mall, there's a massive Continente supermarket that became my go-to spot for groceries and essentials at reasonable prices. On the third level of the mall, you can find the extensive food court, which caters to a variety of tastes and preferences. It featured popular international fast-food chains such as KFC, McDonald's, and Taco Bell, as well as options for authentic Portuguese cuisine. One standout was Pateo, where I enjoyed traditional dishes that offered a local culinary experience without venturing far. Shopping enthusiasts will appreciate that most stores in the mall focus on fashion, with a mix of international brands and local retailers. Although the mall is located in a residential area and not near Lisbon’s primary tourist attractions, I found it to be a worthwhile destination. It provided a unique glimpse into everyday life in the city and served as a convenient and enjoyable hub for shopping, dining, and more.
