Tribute to the portuguese queen Catarina de Bragança. The statue was designed by the american artist Audrey Flack. This is a replica of the one commissioned by the Portuguese community in Queens, under the association Friends of Queen Catherine, who ended up not putting the original up due to the contest of Queen's black community who argued she was a symbol of slavery and colonization. It was peaceful walking by the river. There's a interesting museum/tower, which you can pay to go in. Pleasantly surprised to see an awesome sculpture on our walk! She's beautiful! Her pose shows elegance and strength. She was once the Dutchess Rainha D. Catarina of Portugal, when King Henry died. There was also a area for fresh veggies and fruit vendors, selling their goods. This is a nice park, I can see why a lot of people would come here for their...

La obra, solemne y contemplativa, evoca la doble identidad de la infanta: portuguesa por sangre, británica por destino, y sugiere una figura que, pese a vivir entre intrigas y prejuicios religiosos, dejó una huella cultural duradera a ambos...
