my favourite place in lisbon. it's really nice for walks at any time of day (not sure about night) there are cute little cafés in the park so you can stop by for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat, there's a dog park and s children's playground (thankfully not too close together), lovely trees, and sculptures, and artificial lakes, as well as obligatory urban style graffiti. on sundays the park is full of people walking their dogs which makes it a great hangout spot for friendly butt sniffs. ❤️

Incredible green spot in Campo Grande. It's near the public academic center where students can enter and study with a view. The lake is clean an nice. In the afternoon on weekends you can rent a boat for the pond. Perfect for kids, lots of activities. There is a ping pong table and spots where to eat.

When you look at the photos it looks like something, but the fact is it's a very small garden, and after a lot of recent works the idiots (1) took out all the tennis courts and replaced them with padel courts; (2) the pond still has the same "boats" it had 30 or 40 years ago (absolutely terrible); (3) A drive-through McDonalds was added in the main building which was named Caleidoscopio, that used to be a tiniest and nice shopping centre. (4) Should have a lot more trees; (5) The grass is not in great shape; (6) The existing public services such as the boat renting, restaurants, bars, gym, etc., all should be object to a public bidding (with clear rules, with the quality of services provided to the public in mind), but it seems these were all given to someone's friends and others that paid more regardless of their value to the public. Finally, after all the works that started many months ago, there are a few places that aren't finished (incredible!) in mid summer, in the capital of Portugal, even with all the publicity and fame for being one of the trendiest cities. Oh and this was always known as Campo Grande Garden (now they've named it after a...

Jardim Mário Soares might stick sooner or later but it is for the locals and has always been: Jardim do Campo Grande or simply Campo Grande, which is fitting or wouldn’t it mean literally The Big Field. Sandwiched between two opposed direction quite fast paced multiple lane busy streets it is not the quintessential garden where peaceful environment and silent surroundings make it a perfect meditation spot. Nonetheless it is a long stretch that is perfect for a run if one does not mind the exhaust gases that will be present. Also there is some kiosk cafes where to make a break, meet friends or refresh. It is kid friendly and there is even a McDonalds for those daring to eat plastic or an Italian restaurant. Panel is there as well, a gym, a small artificial lake with boats and even a small conference room. Pretty comprehensive for the cultural insignificance. Good for jogging, ideal for the locals to have a break while kids play but not going to redefine your concept of green beauty standards. It is free though, so if it doesn’t do it for you try Monteiro Mor instead in not so far away Museu do Traje in Lumiar,...
