overall, this hotel was not a good fit for us at all. we booked kinda last minute and didn't have much of a choice of hotels due to time constraints, it being holiday season, general unresponsiveness of properties we contacted (lisbon hotels are not very forthcoming with info about welcoming pets) and us having a (toy breed) dog. i am not too happy about writing this review but i know i would much appreciate this info before booking, so here goes. this hotel is not pet friendly, it is merely pet tolerant. as we were informed, not all rooms allow pets and they charge you £/night not per stay. we were fine with that. but what was not mentioned is that rooms that allow dogs are all in one floor, basically the first floor called the gallery. (if you think that means you get a view, you are mistaken), that door handles seem to broken on the entire floor leading to some seriously loud door slamming and that windows that don't let in any light (an boy you need light!) don't close properly and are in fact not soundproof which means that you will hear plane noise as well as quiet rummbling of the metro. apparently, there's no suits or double beds on this floor either, so you have to do with twin beds (that are actually quite nice) and hardly and extra sockets. half our room was not lit at all, i suppose it would have been if the socket by the standing lap worked. we didn't get a pet bed or pet bowls. which was a first for us. we requested them specifically, were told that the hotel was fully booked and that they haven't got any left at the time of checking in but we would get them. we didn't. we ended up buying them and our doggo slept in his carrier. so basically they've got like 9 or so rooms for pets, are unable to provide you with basic dog stuff you can reasonably expect at pet-friendly establishments, charge you per night for your pet and don't allow you to leave your pet in the room save for going to breakfast. (i do wonder what kind of lame excuse they will come up with if they reply to this review). speaking of breakfast: it's mediocre at best. saved only by the fact that portugal has amazing oranges and therefore delicious orange juice. it's continental buffet with very limited options and you can get eggs if you manage to catch a server. and i do mean that. they always seemed to be frantically running about, giving the whole breakfast experience an uneasy, nervous vibe. i'd like to end this overly long review with some highlights: our maid was incredible, taking care that everything was orderly and nice throughout our stay. and you can order delivery...
Read moreThis is not my first time in Lisbon, but this is the first time I’ve ever felt the need to write a review — and it’s because this hotel is truly special. It is the first place where I genuinely felt at home, and where the staff became like a family to me.
First of all, I have to say this is truly pet friendly — and not just for dogs. I was traveling with my cat, and they provided everything I could possibly need, even a litter box with fresh litter. That kind of thoughtfulness meant so much to me and eased my stay after a long flight.
On my very first night at check-in, Taylor welcomed me so kindly and helped me with my huge bags — something I’ll always be grateful for. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, and perfectly quiet. Every morning at breakfast I was greeted by the friendly faces of Joaquim, Pedro, Carlos, and Hilton. They are all wonderful, but Joaquim really stood out — above all he is a true professional, while also being warm and kind, and he even became a friend during my stay. Conversations with him always brightened my days, and he really made me feel part of the family here. This meant a lot to me.
Pedro also deserves a special word — he was always kind and attentive, and made me feel very welcome and cared for.
My room was cleaned every single day, always perfectly. I want to give special thanks to Amanda, who did it with such enthusiasm and care. The staff always helped me scan important documents (I had a lot) when I needed it. Normally, when I travel, I never really remember names — it’s usually just check-in, check-out, and that’s it. But here, the people made such an impression on me that I’ll never forget them.
Overall, this is a wonderful, modern hotel with a great location — safe, clean, and welcoming. And beyond being truly pet friendly, they are also pro human: very genuine, warm, and caring in the best possible sense of the word — a true reflection of the Portuguese spirit. I really hope I’ll come back again, and from now on, whenever my friends ask me about Lisbon, I’ll only recommend this hotel. Obrigada...
Read more"Never mind the noisy planes flying right over this hotel, it’s just One flew over the bed bug’s nest" I stayed in the NH Campo Grande hotel in Lisbon for 3 days while on a business trip (between 14 and 17 of March, 2018). To my surprise, I encountered a very unusual problem for a 4 stars, 95 Euro per night hotel: the room in which I stayed (no. 503) was infested with bed bugs (“Cimex lectularius”, percevejos de cama in portuguese). After my first night I noticed a rush on my skin which I first thought was due to some bad food. However, the problem got much worse after the second night when I noticed bites on my skin (in patterns of consecutive three). It was pretty easy to find on the side of the bed the guilty insect which had sucked my blood. I smashed it and it was full of blood and smelled pretty awful. By now the allergy had got extremely bad with red areas all over my skin, terrible rush and anxiety. When I complained at the reception, handing over to them the dead little beast in a paper napkin, the staff was kind and responsive. They agreed to change my room and to pay for the medicine I took from the pharmacy (14.48 Euro, precisely). However, this thing ruined my stay in Lisbon and affected at least one of my business days. As I am writing this, I have blisters on my skin and I am thinking that I will never ever go to an NH hotel. Never mind the noisy planes flying right over this hotel, it’s just One flew over the...
