Discovered this gem recently, and it's my new go to bakery! I didn't know how great sourdough is for those of us who cannot tolerate too much gluten! Which makes living in Portugal with the multitude of Padelaria Pastelaria locations challenging. Top off the digestive benefits with outstanding tasting everything and friendly owners and I will keep going back! BTW...the canela/cinnamon buns are fab!

I read about this place in the local magazine and decided to stop by for lunch. They had vegan options, a couple of salad options, sandwich and soups available. I had a soup and coffee and walked away with a box of pastries. I was super impressing the ingredients list. This place will now be a part of our regular breakfast rotation.

My favorite bread in town. I love the nordic rye or the fermented oats and for sure the cookies. The price is more than justified. After all, it is sourdough bread and not just water and cheap flour. I am very grateful that here was created a place for real gourmets.

At this bakery, I have bought bread several times and noticed that they offer breakfasts. So, one day, I decided to come for breakfast. I ordered a ham and cheese toast and a filter coffee. They brought me the filter coffee first and then the toast. I tried a small piece and realized it was the wrong toast because it didn’t have ham. I called the waiter and asked if this was the right toast. They replied that I had ordered a cheese toast, not a ham and cheese toast, which are two completely different items. I said that I had ordered a ham and cheese toast, but they started arguing with me, insisting that I was mistaken. As you can imagine, it’s hard to prove anything in this situation.

Then, a man who also worked there came over and said that while he could remake the toast, I would still have to pay for the one they made by mistake. Keep in mind that even if you place your order correctly and they bring you the wrong item by mistake, you will be blamed and you will pay for it, not the staff...

I don't understand the way you guys manage your business. We've arrived a few times at around 14:00 and there was nothing (!!!) left to buy excepts for 4 loafs of bread. We wanted to buy a few pastries and a bread but it was all gone by this hour and we just left upset. The place is opened until 17:00, so why are you open if you don't have anything to offer to your clients? Why not making more products if you see that there's a demand for it? This incident happened to us 4 times already - Nothing to buy at 14:00 o'clock. There are people who cannot arrive early morning cause they're working and we also don't live close by. A business that knows how to conduct itself, will offer its products at least half an hour or an hour until closing. You manage things ridiculously and it's a shame and disrespect for...

I think this place is seriously overhyped. The whole vibe is chaotic, the service is painfully slow and all over the place. As for the pastries everyone keeps raving about - my pistachio croissant looked like it had been dropped on the floor and stepped on. Something like that should never leave the kitchen. The coffee was sour, which might suit fans of that style, but not me. The bread was decent, so maybe worth a visit just for that. Personally, I won’t be back and honestly can’t recommend it, there are plenty of much better...
