Museu do Ar - Polo Alverca — Attraction in Vila Franca de Xira

It's a nice place to visit with kids, so that they will have basic information about aeroplane and helicopters which are being used from last 100 years, you can find from old engines to latest technology development engines, turbo engines, jet engines, propeller engines, etc. That have kept the planes from WWII, all are in good conditions.

Other than planes, you can see the the rifles witch are being used by air force. They have kept the guns which are used to mount in airplanes. Also so many models of airplanes in toys type with their names.

Um dos melhores museus na cidade da aeronáutica! Lembrando que foi de Alverca que saiu o avião que fez a segunda travessia aérea do Atlântico Sul, rumo ao Brasil. Para além de que foi o aeroporto internacional até à inauguração da Portela. A própria cidade tem aviões e items relacionados espalhados (jardim, escola, saída da A1, várias avenidas) Neste museu podem-se ver dezenas de aviões, réplicas únicas como o Santa Cruz que fez a primeira travessia aérea do Atlântico Sul (Portugal - Brasil) e o Pátria que fez Portugal - Macau. Muitos motores, hélices, armamento, muita muita coisa feita em Portugal. E é visita obrigatória para as crianças! Aprendem enquanto se divertem a sério.
