I was there for the Gravenstein Apple Fair, which is a festival celebrating this particular apple, which grows in the Sebastopol area. It was one of those local fairs, though it was of interest to me. A lot of local places in a food court, many of whom were selling things made with Gravenstein apples. I bought an apple cinnamon roll from a local vendor, which was excellent. I was surprised by the atmosphere there.

There were a lot of people dressed in counterculture garb, and some were selling that stuff. It would appear from everyone and everything I noticed here, that a lot of aging hippies from the 60s live in this area, and also Russians. Having said all of this, it was a worthwhile excursion.

Another thing of note, this was not a good place to buy Gravenstein apples. There were some local farmers there selling them, but most of those apples were not ready to be eaten immediately, which is my preference. One of the farmers, which I spoke with, was only selling them in bags full of those kind of apples. I wanted to choose my own apples and in bulk, however I could only do that at their farm, which wasn't going to happen...

This dog park is inside a regional park that charges a parking fee upon entry. There technically no charge to use the park, you just have to pay to get there. The park itself is mediocre, with sufficient trash bins and water access for dogs. It's a bit on the small side for large dogs, making it hard for them to get in exercise without bothering other patrons.

Some of the local patrons are nice, while others are very possessive of the park when "outsiders" visit. One such patron was quite passive-aggressive, making snide and judgemental comments to other people instead of addressing his concern directly with the individual. The individual went so far as to say "Remember, there are no bad dogs - just bad dog owners". The anxious dog in question quickly quieted down once he left the park.

Overall, this is on my list of parks to avoid while traveling due to the...

It was a maiden voyage taking my dogs to the"dog park" there. It was horrific for my 2 pets and disturbing for myself. I realize it's a dog park & the whole idea is to allow your dogs to roam freely and socialize with others BUT I feel that it's still the responsibility of the owners to pay attention to and control their pets. There were dogs of all sizes, mostly large, that were totally unsupervised. My poor dogs were growled at, laid out on the ground, were repeatedly having these much larger dogs trying to hump them etc etc while the owners were congregated at the opposite side of this yard. They were oblivious to the actions of the animals. I ended up carrying my dogs out of there. Awake up pet owners. Your dogs need supervision. I will never go...

We visited the park during Gravenstein Apple Fest and that was incredible- lots of people, lots of fun, music, booth offering apple pies, cider, wine, beer, and artisan crafts. You will see the farm animals and pet a miniature horse, you will see some old mechanical equipment for making apple juice or century old washing machine People having great time eating, drinking and listening to music. Kids excited to see so much and learn a lot. It is a great opportunity to be a part of the community and to have fun together.

Wonderful park! Stopped in for a quick Visit while driving through Sebastopol. The park has a soccer field, tennis courts, playground, and a large off leash for area. The dog area has water available for pups and a few benches to sit in. The dog area also has a couple agility items. There are designated small dog hours but we stopped in around noon since my dog is comfortable playing with larger dogs. Be prepared to pay $7.00 if you drive.
