This is one of the best museums in Romania. Not only is it new and comparable in curation to top notch places abroad, but the artefacts dating thousands years back or the patrimony of old books by themselves are worth the visit

Everything is translated to English and the museum is organized chronologically starting with the Cucuteni culture and even earlier than that moving through a series of 27 rooms through Antiquity, the Middle Ages, Modernity and up to the Communist era and beyond. Sone of the history is a bit sketchy with some rooms being very small, but you definitely get an impressively clear and coherent idea of the history of Bucovina.

Archeology buffs will...

Awesome! Haven't been here for more than 20 years. They did renovations all over. I'd say it's at European standards. Very clean, well organized and so admirable that they organize new termporary exhibitions from time to time and you can also see the advertisements about them around town.

Only had time to visit the Tibetan Art exhibition, but already planning on the next tour for the Hunting weapons exhibition and of course the permanent exhibition they always have.

Looking forward to the...

5 stars aren't even enough to rate this place. The museum is throughly transformed, changed and improved and it can rival any of the famous worldwide museums. There is a great sense of detail in every room you are walking through. Fantastic source of education for younger generations and also a source of emotions for those who experienced the years of communism. Congratulations to the whole team at the museum and to everyone who contributed to the reconstruction of this...

The history exposition we visited was notably modern and had some interactive elements, making the experience both educational and engaging. The whole vibe is cool and interesting, and you can easily lose track of time exploring the displays. Don't miss the souvenir shop, where you can pick up mementos that capture the essence of your visit. This is a standout attraction that shouldn't be missed if you're in the area.
