Hotel Balada — Hotel in Suceava

Suceava in the heart of Bucovina , was the city of choice as the base for hour trips to the landmarks and sights of the region. And the hotel of choice for 3 nights was the Balada hotel - so here are the findings. ||Location - at the foot of the citadel hill on Mitropoliei street - 15 minutes walking distance from the city center but away from its noise. ||A generous parking lot - even with weddings at the restaurant we could find easily a spot for the car. ||Restaurant on the premises - very good and with good service. ||The room - we picked a deluxe one and did not regret it - the room was huge , by any standard , with working A/C , with coffee machine in the room , with loaded minibar and decent prices for the beverages in it. ||Daily housekeeping was assuring that the room was very clean and a comfortable bed was making the stay very good. Smoking allowed on the balcony.||Bathroom very clean and large ... so nothing to complain. ||The furniture was in very good condition - showing some signs of wear here and there.||Checking in and checking out went smoothly - payment with credit card easy and fast. ||Breakfast - was a little below expectation but nonetheless with decent options and the service was nothing to complain of. ||Overall a very good hotel, if you look for one in Suceava I recommend you...

After a relatively pleasant first experience (it was too hot in the room and we couldn't turn off the heat, the only option was to sleep with the window open) we decided to return to this hotel.|Unfortunately, it was not an inspired decision. On the second visit I found the toilet bowl dirty. I asked the reception to get another room or to clean the bathroom.|I was told by the reception that a person will come to clean. Something that happened, but the person who came was "armed" only with a sprayer, which probably contained, and I hope, a solution to clean the toilet. The person in question spent about 2 minutes in the bathroom, during which time he wiped only the area in question with the toilet brush in the bathroom, as if only the area in question needed to be sanitized.|If this is how the bathroom is cleaned, how do you wash the linen and towels?|We probably should have thought about the fact that on both visits the parking lot was almost empty and in the restaurant there were only 2 or 3...

This ranks among the best hotel experiences I've had. The room was not only spacious, with the added bonus of a balcony, but it was also impeccably clean. The bed was comfortable, better than many other hotels I've stayed in. Amenities were as expected for a 4-star establishment, and while the bathroom was a bit tight, it was functional. The breakfast buffet offered an array of choices that left us satisfied each morning. We opted to eat out for other meals, so we didn't make use of the room service, though it's available. The hotel's location was perfectly suited for our touristic goals, making it easy to explore the surrounding area.
