The National Museum of Banat — Attraction in Timișoara

Cost was only 8 lei, as of June 2022, but it was very short especially as there no English. Which given that Timisoara was the European capital city of culture 2021, it was surprising there was no other languages other than Romanian.

I also never got a ticket. At first I thought it was because I'm a foreigner, as the guy in front of me got a ticket, but having read other people's reviews they most likely didn't give me a physical ticket because I paid with a card.

I was also going to have a look at this cartoon exhibition and as I approached the woman was about to leave (this was at 10:45am ish). She stood in the doorway and gave me a look like I insulted her by wanting to buy a ticket and visit it. Refused to step away from the door, telling me it's not free. I would have been happy to pay but given that she wouldn't even step away from the door to let me in, I'm assuming I wasn't welcome.

This museum had a large building which is not available for over 10 years, so now what is exposed is much less. 2 areas with few exhibits, not telling any story really. The better one is the etnographical one, with lots of beautiful Costumes in a great state and many photos. Then, we had many issues. The first exhibition was 8 lei per person, we paid by card, no ticket issued. The second one was double, 16 lei per person. The lady noted down the serial no of the tickets in 2 places (wow, just wow!) and asked us to pay cash or, if paying by card, to pay separately each ticket. 5 minutes waiting time. Very very weird, is it bureaucracy or something else? Then she said we can take 1 photo as souvenir, but if we want o to take more there is a photo tax of 32 ron!
