Honestly about the Brâncuși exhibition: Impressive art! It is such an honour to see the works of the great artist!
But bad organisation: The tickets are checked only in the 2nd floor so, a lot of persoans, that do not have tickets for the time frame can enter (and really do that - what is worse, they are accepted in a different time frame, crowding the place). Directions: after the security gate atbteh museum gate there is no indication for the Brâncuși exhibition. One has to ask. The exhibition space is small in comparation to the space of others exibitions and the total area of the museum. Each room feels confortable with maximum 5 persons. More than this felt too much. The hall way right after the entrance to the exibition is incredibly narrow and there are always a lot of people that can barely pass by each other. IT is very hard to see this exhibits here. Some staff are not careful with noise and exit the exhibition leaving the door open and all the outside noise come in. We visited the exhibition on a...
Read moreWasted potential in a storied building, interesting experience marred by the lack of labels, signage, and general storytelling. At least tell us what it is made of and what the curators liked about them. Some rooms are better than others, but that's not a lot of improvement.
Also, if you are going to close some permanent exhibition rooms early on a day because of events you planned for, at least put up a big notice at the ticket office and let visitors know on the day of so we can decide if we want to pay and what to see first.
We also saw some male staff members drink alcohol on the job. Good for them on a Wednesday evening perhaps, but it's a strange behavior and rather uncomfortable for visitors to see.
The local art (Timisoara and Banat région in general) part is cool and fun to see and check out good but little known artists, the European / international art part of the exhibitions is...
Read moreThe museum is a beautiful building located in the main square. It was well-maintained and had air conditioning throughout. The paintings were diverse and covered a wide range of art styles. The museum often hosts exhibitions by famous Romanian artists. However, the information about the navigation and the exhibits wasn't very clear, so I got a bit lost trying to follow the themes and timelines.
I visited the museum alone that day. The middle-aged man at the ticket booth behaved inappropriately. He was flirting with me and making me uncomfortable. He even offered to sell me a discounted ticket and be my personal guide, as well as having a glass later on. It was disappointing to see someone like him representing such a nice place.
The staff seemed to have trouble speaking English. When I tried to ask questions about the paintings, they just pointed me back to that...
