If you’re traveling without a car and want to enjoy walking around St. Petersburg, then this hotel is definitely for you. It’ll take you about 10 minutes to walk to St. Isaac's Cathedral. Despite the fact that the hotel doesn’t have breakfast or an in-house cafe, there’re a variety of restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries around, so you definitely won’t go hungry. The hotel is also located next to the Griboyedov Canal, on a quiet street, so the noise of cars won’t disturb you in any way to enjoy your sleep. The staff is polite and friendly. The room was bright, clean, but a bit cramped for three people. The room was cleaned every day, but it has both pros and cons. It's nice to come back to a clean and tidy room every evening. But the huge disadvantage of such cleaning is that every time the staff puts things in order, removes our hanging clothes, touches our bathrobes and towels. There are also questions about the bed linen, because it had some yellow stains, in addition, there was someone’s black hair on it, which could be found throughout the room. Of course, the most disappointing thing was the water, which was impossible to adjust; you either wash under boiling water or under very cold water, as if there was no warm. The room also had a balcony, which I wouldn’t recommend using because the cracks on it indicate that it needs to be repaired. There is a possibility of falling from here. I’ll also add that the hotel is located in a historical building, so to get to the reception you will have to use the stairs or the elevator, which looks like something out of a horror movie, but you can use it, I checked it from my...
Read moreVisited the Hotel while in Saint Petersburg after i had read so many good reviews. Well, it was a huge disappointment at beast. What can i say? You cannot find the entrance as what we saw as didn't even remotely resemble the entrance to a hotel. A big red bronze door with a tiny hotel sign above it that made you think that this is just the backdoor for vendors, staff etc. After we called the reception she went down and let us in. The building is old, the stairs are old, the elevator makes you think twice before going in. The room was spacious but...there was no decoration (to some this may be ideal i don't know), the beds' matresses were not good at all, there was a very loud noise of the washing machine next to the room that kept going on for hours (hopefully not at night) and the worst part of it all was that the bathroom smelled horribly. You couldn't even breathe due to the smell you had to hold your breath to go inside...Definitely one of the worst hotels i have been to especially for its price. Not...
Read moreI take a group of students over to Russia every summer, and this was our first time staying in this hotel. In all of my searching, everything was ridiculously overpriced due to the World Cup, but this hotel was not! I was very pleased with the facilities and will continue to book here in the future. ||The entrance to the hotel is a bit subtle, and when you walk into the hotel and up the stairs, it does not give a good first impression, as the stairway is a bit rundown. Don't worry- this does not indicate the quality of the rooms. The reception is on the second floor. Most of the reception staff speak a bit of English. The rooms are decent size, clean, well-kept. Breakfast is included, and as someone who enjoys Russian food, I thought it was very decent. ||The hotel is in a great location, just about a kilometers walk from some of the main attractions, but the neighborhood itself is quiet, so you don't have to worry about...
