House where Fyodor Dostoyevsky (1821-1881) was living in 1864-1867. Here, he wrote his novel "Crime and Punishment". This corner house is number 14/7 of 14 Stolyarny (Joinery) Lane and 7 Kaznacheyskaya Ulitsa (Treasure Street). On that day in October 2024, I had wonderful strolling along the banks of Griboyedov Canal and streets where the action of the Fyodor Dostoyevsky's novel "Crime and Punishment" took place. Dostoyevsky published his philosophic detective in 1866. The main character and evil man, Rodion Raskolnikov lived in the house number 19 in Stolyarny Lane just a hundred meters further from here.
