Will never shop at Centrepoint, again. Terrible discriminatory customer service. After spending time making the selection in the men’s department, proceeded to checkout. After standing in queue awhile, asked if using a card. Answer, yes, wallet RF pay. Directed to use self-service check-out which requires the customer to scan its purchased items, remove the hangars, remove the anti theft devices, fold and place in the shopping bag, enter discount voucher (which we had), then pay by RF. Ridiculous for a store of this price point. Self-checkout machine did not work. After awhile a checkout staffer came and tapped around on the screen only to confirm the software was frozen, called for help, no help came, so told us to wait out the frozen screen and then she left. Meantime, many Saudi customers with cards were checked out by the attended cashier check stand. Very discriminatory. After a time, the attended checkout girl called for a department manager who turned out to be standing around close by but doing nothing the whole time. He also came, tapped around in the self-checkout and confirmed it was frozen. Then took us to attended checkout. When voucher entered, rejected. Explanation was that one of our items was on sale, even though no indication of such at the rack, and no indication of any exclusions on the voucher. A third English speaking clerk called to back-up the first clerk and department manager. Agreed the voucher did not say anything about exclusions, but did say the store has the right to decide the acceptance of the voucher. Are you kidding me? I observed several staff members were grouped in the storeroom, located behind the cashier's counter.
While I understand that Sundays can be a slower day and staff might have days off, but there appeared to be sufficient personnel available, yet no one was prepared to offer assistance.
