The entrance fee is 500 CFA (less than a Euro) for non-Africans. If you dont speak French, you wont understand much but only get a basic idea of the history of Goree. The museum is inside a small fortress where dozens of old French war equipment is scattered around. You will see some cool artifcats and canons half buried in sand or put amongst rocks. The exhibition starts from the early humans and streches back to current day. The artifcats exhibited are cool but the quality of the exhibiton is pretty poor. Read moreA museum that we visited as the House of Slaves is closed on Monday. Importantly we were locked into the museum at around 11am in the morning as the security guard locked up and left without checking if any was still viewing the all-French museum.
Like a lot of places in Senegal you need to get change before visiting.
