Celje Regional Museum has been collecting, protecting and representing the cultural heritage of Celje for over 130 years. A comprehensive view of the history and culture of the Celje region is offered in two central city exhibition venues (Prince’s Mansion and the Old Landgrave’s House)

Read moreWow. What a perfect day. When we came to Celje we didn't know how amazed we would be. We started the day at the old castle of Celje which was a stunning experience to begin with. There it was recommended that later the day we join the guided tour in the regional museum in the medival part of town to take a look at the excavation site beneath the city. That sounded great so we agreed to it. In the last few years we have seen a lot of the traces the Romans left in Europe but what we saw and learned today was on top of it all. We met a lot of great local people today and are truely grateful that they shared a piece of their tremendous knowledge with us. We will definitely come back, excited of all the things that might have been discovered until then. This city with it's museums and the old castle is a must see for everyone that is interested in the Roman and medival times. There is so much to...
