I stayed here during an exchange for two weeks with a group of 10 students. Now when my school booked the rooms there weren't many rooms available so the girls all had to stay in one room, which was quite cramped logically. The boys were able to stay in a double room and one slept solo. Since it is a hostel you have to remind yourself that you shouldn't expect too much. However eventually there were bugs running all around the room. Now it is partly our fault since we dirtied the room ourselves. We were hoping that there would be some type of housekeeping service provided to ensure that the rooms stay clean and that there would be no bugs in the room. Which unfortunately was not the case. We had to shower in the shared showering room, which was uncomfortable, but that is a preference. Since our room was too cramped they couldn't fit a bathroom in there so we also had to make use of the public toilet. During our stay there was another group on exchange that were loud mouths and just a bit of a nuisance. However this is not the hostels problem or fault. Eventually there were also ants in the shower and that is where I became a little bit scared but that was during the last few days. The breakfast this hostel offers is the highlight of this hostel, honestly. It was so delicious, the yogurt with strawberries was so tasty. I recommend the breakfast for the people who stay at this hostel. We actually met the manager and he was really helpful, he told us where the best places were in Celje. Overall we had a great time nonetheless. Thank you...
Read moreI enjoyed my stay at MCC Hostel as it served all my needs - it was close to the city centre and train station, the dorms were cheap (although there were no showers in the room - only stalls in a shared bathroom) and you were given free towels and lockers. The beds were really comfy and the hostel was clean. In the morning they serve breakfast from 7 a.m. so I got up early for it, but the waitress was too busy setting up breakfast so I couldn't get a cappuccino (I had to rush to the train station and no way I was serving myself instant coffee - gross). My only "real" complaint was that check-in is at 4 p.m. on Saturdays. I noticed reception stays open all day long during the week - perhaps they should switch it around so they are more available on the busiest days of the week (AKA Saturday) since I'm sure Tuesdays are pretty...
Read moreMCC hostel was a few minutes walk from the main railway station and not too far from the city center and main square. We spent just one night in Celje, and the hostel was jsut perfect. Check in was smooth, and we had a clean and comfortable dormitory. The kitchen, common area and bathrooms are shared, but well maintained. We visited before peak tourist season, so there were comparatively less people around. There was also a wine and cheese tasting conducted in the hostel on the night we visited. Although it was entirely in Slovenian, the staff were nice enough to translate for us. It was a really good experience. ||The only thing i didn't quite like is the local art work on some of the walls and ceilings. Some of it was...
