We went to Koper excited, because the current owner had previously worked at a restaurant we liked a lot. Unfortunately, the experience now is a complete disappointment. The staff seem to serve guests grudgingly, it takes ages for anyone to approach, and they clearly don’t know the menu or what’s in stock.
We started with an appetizer of raw shrimp, which was fine and presented elegantly, suggesting they want to be a proper restaurant rather than a bistro. But then it went downhill: after 35 minutes, our carbonara arrived, very average. The beef salad was a joke - just lettuce with vinegar and two tiny pieces of meat. After the appetizer, the waiter didn’t even bring new cutlery, so I had to go and get it by myself because my fork was dirty.
We also ordered wine and the waiter spilled it on the table and didn’t clean it up. For this experience, we paid €60 - not worth it at all. A sad shadow of what the...
Read moreHello. After the hike, we went for lunch here with the kids, and the experience was pleasant. The weighter was polite and helpful. The food was top. Everything was tasty and fresh. For the starter, we ordered a limited edition of wild garlic bread (Čemaževi kruhki) without the cheese. I also had a simple mixed salad and a great vegetable pot called Ribollita (Toskanska zelenjavna juha). My wife had a mushroom risotto (Gobarska rižota) without cream and our kids had Pizza Margerita. The other family had two salad plates (Cesarjeva solata & Solatni krožnik s piščancem in mozzarello), calamari filled with prosciutto and cheese (Polnjeni lignji s pršutom in sirom), and spaghetti carbonara. They were also very pleased with the food. Perhaps the only complaint would be that the risotto was a little too salty. I recommend this place and hope you will have the same...
Read moreNobody welcomed me and my son in the restaurant at first. We didn't know whether we could sit down somewhere or whether we should wait. The waitress then offered us two tables. A dirty one with dishes or a table for 6 people. Another waiter was very friendly and spoke very good English. What I didn't like at all was the behavior of the pizzaiolo. I ordered a diavola. This pizza was inedibly hot. About 300,000 Scoville!!! The waiter spoke to the pizzaiolo and complained, whereupon the pizzaiolo said that's how we do it here. The spiciness came from some chili oil. For people with cardiovascular problems or asthmatics, such spiciness can be life-threatening. I wouldn't eat...
