Lower Carniola Museum — Attraction in Novo Mesto

On beautifully and expertly arranged display is just a minority of findings gathered from many archaeological sites across the lower south-eastern part of Slovenia. If you are interested in the period from roughly 800 BC until the fall of the Roman empire this is a must see museum. At the time Dolenjska region was at its peak, because it was rich with iron ore that used to be very sought and widely traded across Europe. There are also other permanent and occasional exhibitions there and superbly renovated premises of are on their own...

Stuck in the past for the last 30 years or so. Full of archeological items yet little to none description. Loads of items from the uncovered graves and no information bout the people buried there....

Interessant museum over degeschiedenis van de streek. Vooral de oudheid tot aan de Romeinse tijd wordt in het eerste deel belicht. Het belangrijkste gedeelte zijn grafvondsten uit deze periodes. Becommentarieerd in het Sloveens en Engels Een ander belangrijk gedeelte gaat over de partizanenstrijd in Slovenië. Dat was voor ons veel moeilijker te begrijpen want enkel info in het Sloveens. Hier valt vooral op hoeveel mensen hierbij betrokken waren, en hoeveel er gesneuveld, cq...
