We were on our way from Salzburg to Croatia when we got car problems. We were stuck in Novo Mesto for two days and made a last minute booking in Hostel Situla.||When we first arrived, the girl at the reception wasn’t too welcoming. Luckily, the guy who replaced her the next two days was a lot friendlier. ||We booked a private double room with shared bathroom. First night we got a 4 bed dorm, second night an 8 bed dorm, both at the price of a double room (46 euros). The room and bathroom were very clean. Beds were comfortable enough, sheets were provided. The only strange thing about the bathroom was that there was no door in front of the shower, so you’ll have to undress d get dressed inside the shower cabin. ||Breakfast was included in the price. It was very basic, but it gets you through the morning. Nice coffee. It is possible to have a cheap lunch (4 euro). We didn’t try it ourselves, but it looked and smelled very decent.||All in all a very good hostel, especially since it’s really cheap.||Novo Mesto itself is a major Slovenian city with a small historical center (in which the hostel is located) and a bigger industrial center. The city hasn’t got too much to offer for tourists, but people are VERY welcoming and most of them speak English really well. Nice hiking trails in the...
Read moreIt’s right in the middle of town, it has two free parking spaces and the staff are very friendly. That’s all there is positive to say about this place. The room we stayed in was dark and dingy, the narrow slit of a window in the door and the single, low-powered light bulb lending it the gloomy air of a prison cell. The remains of a number of squashed insects on the walls were particularly unsavoury. Breakfast consisted of doorsteps of stale bread with slithers of meat and cheese. And it’s not particularly cheap. 23 euros per person is only 2 euros less than proper B&B’s charge in much...

There are also restaurants and bars where you can eat, Abbas is close to the shopping mall. There is also a lot of natural resources, for recreation, hiking, relaxing. the staff are very friendly, if you need some infomations, they...
