Beautiful town right on the marina. A lift takes you up to the old part of koper..very clean, very friendly and extremely quirky. Lots of narrow streets and unusual shops for that something different.. Had the most amazing tasting coffee just off from the square. If you are on a cruise, be advised you will need to carry your passport with you and its about 10 min to get back through security.....standing in 31 degrees heat...but well worth a visit 😀

This place was beautiful.. With influences predominately from Italy, it reminded me of being in a mini Napoli.. Surrounded by still water which glistened in the 33 degrees heat the narrow side streets led to a medieval courtyard with a mixture of Gothic and renaissance architecture.. A gorgeous place to visit and only about an hour or so away from ljubljana..

Die Da Ponte Fountain ist ein historisches Denkmal und ein charakteristisches Merkmal der Altstadt von Koper. Die Fontana Da Ponte wurde im Jahr 1666 von Antonio da Ponte, einem venezianischen Architekten, entworfen und erbaut. Die Fontäne besteht aus einem recheckigen Becken mit einem Sockel und einer zentralen Säule. Die Säule trägt eine Skulptur, die eine Frau darstellt, die eine Amphore hält, aus der das Wasser fließt. Die Fontana Da Ponte steht auf dem zentralen Stadtplatz von Koper, der als Tito-Platz (Titov trg) bekannt ist, und ist ein beliebter Treffpunkt für Einheimische und Touristen. Das Denkmal ist ein wichtiges historisches und kulturelles Symbol in Koper und zeigt die reiche Geschichte der Stadt, die einst ein bedeutender Handels- und Hafenort der Republik Venedig war. Besucher können die Fontana Da Ponte bewundern, sich ausruhen und die charmante Atmosphäre der Altstadt von Koper genießen, während sie um das Denkmal herumspazieren. A very beautiful place, clean and tidy. With a long promenade. The old town is qwant with a a few shops. There is a small bech with a children's play area.

Gre za vodnjak na trgu, ki je predstavljal glavi stik otoškega Kopra s kopnim. Tu se je končal vodovod, ki je dovajal vodo v mesto. Današnjo baročno podobo je dobil leta 1666, ko ga je dal na novo postaviti podestat Lorenzo Da Ponte. Osmerokotni vodni bazen z lokom, ki predstavlja most (simbolna povezava s priimkom podestata), je dodatno okrašen še s piramidami, grbi, kamnitimi obrazi, drugimi motivi in ogrado.
