Beautiful town right on the marina. A lift takes you up to the old part of koper..very clean, very friendly and extremely quirky. Lots of narrow streets and unusual shops for that something different.. Had the most amazing tasting coffee just off from the square. If you are on a cruise, be advised you will need to carry your passport with you and its about 10 min to get back through security.....standing in 31 degrees heat...but well...

They were having an iron man weekend when we were passing through and it was very well supported, if I recall correctly, over a thousand participants. Surrounded by still water which glistened in the 33 degrees heat the narrow side streets led to a medieval courtyard with a mixture of Gothic and renaissance architecture.. A gorgeous place to visit and only about an hour or so away...
