We have been travelling and eating our way through France, Italy and Slovenia the past 2.5 weeks and today was the best meal we have had! The fresh local ingredients in our food were prepared to perfection. We had the calamari, fried sardines, gnocchi in goulash and pasta in goulash. Also for sides we had French fries and mixed salad. For drinks we had the house red and white wines which were delicious. Our server was excellent and helped us choose some of our dishes.

Mario(the chef) came out to share with us not only about the food and history of the restaurant but also to assure us there was no need to worry about any pesto in the food as one of us has a severe allergy to it. He was super kind and informative and a pleasure to talk to. We are absolutely thrilled. The restaurant is located in the middle of the city and is very easy to reach on foot. It is beautifully decorated and you immediately feel at home. The toilets are also clean and decorated with aesthetic pictures and plants. We were served by the owner's daughter in a very detailed, friendly and sensitive manner. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. If you like truffle pasta, seafood or fish, you will love it. I am a vegetarian and although it was not on the menu I got very delicious homemade gnocchi with tomato sauce. Although we did not announce this, I got offered delicous alternatives. The Mixed salad is also delicious. To finish off, we were offered a very tasty homemade apple strudel, which was excellent. My wife and I stopped in and no one was dining. I asked if they were open and they said yes. They verbally gave us two meat choices of goulash and 1 fish goulash dish to choose from. I had the meat goulash with polenta my wife the meat with gnocchi. My goulash was barely warm with 4 small pieces of meat. My wife's was hot. I guess they should have left mine in the microwave longer. It was the worst dish by far I have had in 9 weeks of travel. On top of that they wanted 29 euros for that and a bottle of water.
