Returning from the main square we came to the Tavern. An international cuisine festival was held. We were delighted with the great flavors of Indian, Thai, Hungarian ... cuisine. The history of this building is more than interesting. The inhabitants of Koper were engaged in the production of salt as early as the 12th century, there are written sources which mention the salt industry in 1182. For the sake of salt storage, a San Marco salt warehouse was built, which is today called the Tavern. In addition of Tavern, there were inns, where fishermen and fishing boat owners met. When the saltpans were abolished in 1912, the building was remodeled and intended for fish market, trade, storage...

Taverna winter ice experience! Great place, great ice, middle of Koper by the sea. Kind service and simbolic prices. What else do you want. Not big but big enough. You can rent the gear. They have the penguins and leo which entertain the smaller children who lose their fear after a few rounds already. Not to mention that Koper is the most beautiful city with the best christmas lighting in Slovenia FOR SURE....

We were here before 2 Weeks on Ice skating and it was amazing, place is in half-closed area which protects you for wind and direct Sunlight, it cost only 5€ per person include Ice skating shoes which are worm and good shaped.. we recommend this place to everyone! And small tip; if you want to have more space on ice go rather before...
