This was a really nice place to go to for vegans, people with food allergies or just for those who loved healthy meals full of vegetables. A minus has always been the overdosing with soy derivates and poor seasoning, but let's say you can't expect a restaurant level dish from place ment for take away meals.
At the beginning the place was rather cheap or fair priced but in a few years the prices got up for almost 30% while the quality of food remains at the same level or got even poorer.
Today I took an artichoke lasagna with almost no (definitely pickled) artichoke. There was a very meat-like filling I really wished I was warned about since I can't even eat things that feel or taste like meat.
Anyways, the "best" 9,50€ menu remains the 60g strongly over cooked pasta with half a spoon of bought truffle pate soaked in the vinegar of the hand full of green salad added in the same bowl.
I didn't got angry just for the meal who doesn't meet at all my vegan taste, but also for waiting (as almost always) for 10 minutes while a girl that noticed me continued carelessly chatting with a costumer while the owner continued his reading, and a third worker - a really nice and kind girl - that was working her a** off rushed to attend me when she noticed a new costumer. Maybe the meals would have a decent price and regular costumers wouldn't feel robbed if there were fewer people behind...
Read moreFull disclosure: I know the owners of this cute little bistro in Koper’s centre. They told me about a year ago that they had opened their new endeavour but since I live in the Netherlands it took me a while to be able to visit. Today was my chance and it exceeded my expectations. The location is perfect. After ordering my sandwich (tailored to accommodate all my dietary related allergies and intolerances) I sat outside and enjoyed the late summer sun whilst also enjoying my modified “balkans” sandwich. It had an aubergine spread, pesto, zucchini and homemade ajvar on it. It’s been 3 hours and I’m still really full. That might be because I also had a mini pizza and I had a piece of cake as desert. If you’re a vegan, you’ll be grateful to have food here that’s affordable and tasty. If you’re not vegan I think you’ll have the same sentiment perhaps added with some surprise that vegan food can taste this good! I got here around 10am. Just before the peak at 11am when a line started to form outside the shop. They tell me the peak usually ends around 2pm. Aside from your breakfast or lunch you could also get some snacks or a jar of the homemade ajvar I mentioned earlier. It’s the end of September 2019 and there’s seating with tables for 12 people outside and 4 barstools inside. Friendly staff, good service, super tasty food, reasonably priced. I suggest you make your way over...
Read moreobjective POV: As a vegan visiting Slovenia this is the place to be. You will be very satisfied by exclusive, nutritional and lovely made vegan food. Food is incredible and yummi, prices are fair, 4-6 people can eat inside, outside are places too. No parking places so consider 10 minutes of walking. Handsome family business
subjective POV: We visited the store a little late and were afraid to not make it, but smh this day I was very lucky. One of the family joked around that they have closed, but than they let me and my gf in. We had a wonderful chat and exchange, while eating and drinking vegan food, which was made very thoughtful and delicious. The visit left a lasting impression. The father and son treated us very well and we will definitely come again if we are in the...
