I stayed one night in this hotel as a treat. In short, the hotel is very nice. I loved the room’s design, reception staff were lovely and breakfast which was included was really amazing. I’ve worked in hospitality and travelled a fair bit and I think this is one of the best breakfasts I’ve experienced. Nothing super fancy but a touch of difference and originality (humus, local pastries, homemade smoothies) Yet not everything was exactly perfect, sorry I really don’t like to write negative things but here is what can be improved. 2 things: Prior to arriving I felt a bit pressured as in the same day I received a text, an email and a WhatsApp message all asking me to do pre checking-in… I think it was a bit much. One communication is enough and worst case scenario I don’t do the pre check-in and everybody still is happy don’t think? I know there is a lot of care taken about arriving by car because like most towns on the coast cars are not able to access the center but in my case there was no car involved and I had read the info when booking anyway. I tried the pizzeria and the food was very good and reasonably priced but I believe staff is undertrained or unhappy (maybe both) I really was disappointed in service, almost felt like I was bothering them, won’t go into details but this is something to work on. So I would give the 4,5/5 score if I could because it wasn’t far from perfect but there are still ways to improve and I wish you every success in it because the place is beautiful and looks like staff is working hard to make it great. Maybe I went to pizzeria on the wrong...

Grand Koper Hotel is not a location but a feeling. And that is something that is rarely achieved in tourism. Thank you for being my hosts for 12 modest days [11 evenings]. The location is beautiful and something that, in my opinion, is the best you can find along the Slovenian coast. The story of how I am a person who spends 20 days a month traveling somehow starts in a standard way. Until you are greeted by the kindness and cordiality of the staff who, even though it was 2 am, greeted me with a smile in my native Macedonian language with wishes for a nice stay. And that is not all. In this hotel, the staff of all categories is not only professional but also unique in their approach to each of their clients - guests. Small gestures of immense kindness. Like the one when my wish that I would like the glass to be next to my bedside table was silently understood. It is a fact that in this hotel things do not work "on automatic basis". The breakfast is 1O out of 1O and again it's not just the quality of the food but the kindness of the staff. The food in the restaurants that are part of the hotel is something that complements the concept. And you don't need a pool for 5 stars. You have one star for humanity towards the client. Every good morning - a good day and a pleasant evening. It's a lifestyle. Warmest recommendations to everyone who wants to get to know the Slovenian coast. There are hotels that are "classics" but Koper is the real experience. Thank you for...

This is the only hotel in the old city and should be a prime destination. We had a room on the second floor but was told the lift only went to the first floor and then we had a long walk and a flight of stairs to reach our room which was very small. The bed linen was clean and the view over the marina was stunning - the only things that were positive. The most worrying thing was the filthy (and I mean filthy!) fitted carpet and the worn state of it on the treads of the staircase - a hazard for older clients and children in a hurry to get downstairs! When we asked for two extra pillows we were regarded with amazement. The receptionists did their best to be helpful and spoke a huge number of languages. The wifi only worked in the lobby. The first night we realised we had no glasses for water and had to ask for them the next day as the phone to reception didn't seem to work! We paid 86 euros for this a night including breakfast. Breakfast was served in the adjacent cafe (not owned by the hotel) and was poor - 'plastic' ham and cheese slices, juice that could have been coloured sugar water, mini buns and solid scrambled egg. The coffee was in a flask as was hot water to make tea only it was never hot enough to extract the tea from the teabag! Such a shame as this could be a great place because of its position. My adivce? Rip up that disgusting carpet and clean the walls...

A nicely designed hotel on a great location. The room was in the new section, attached to the historic building. The sea view came with a Bar below and revving cars, but all part of the urban port city experience, so no complaints :) Nice warm corridors, sea themed carpets, same details on the do-not disturb sign. Easy to navigate, beautiful typography, funky elevator, lush dining room. Two downsides that can be improved. 1. The thick shade and the electronic window blind, enable the room to turn completely dark.. jet, the interface panel that controls climate control and maid service, has 3 white LED lights, that glow all night. Had to use a bit of DIY to cover it up. 2. On one photo you can spot a larger blob on the side of the bed. This discolouration could be a leftover of the maid trying to clean a dark smudge. On the Check-out, when asked if everything was ok, I complained about the disappointing dinner at the Capra restaurant downstairs (separate review), also mentioned the blob on the side of the bed... They ignored it, since they already charged me at the Check-in (!) they showed no real care, this attitude made the difference between 4 and 5 stars. Overall, a quality hotel in a great location, I would recommend it.

Our stay at the Grand Koper Hotel was excellent in every possible way! The predominantly young staff, from reception to housekeeping, were incredibly hospitable and friendly – they truly added an extra dimension to our visit. Our room was very clean and spacious, offering a lovely view over Koper's harbor. The bathroom was also spotless and equipped with everything one could possibly need. The breakfast was a particular highlight, made with fresh products and offering a wide variety of choices. They even prepared different kinds of eggs on request, which was a nice touch. We also found their valet parking service to be well worth the price, providing excellent and convenient service. The hotel's location is ideal for leisurely walks along the harbor and waterfront, exploring the town, or even strolling across to the other side of the bay. The Grand Koper Hotel also boasts two recommended restaurants: a pizza restaurant and a fine-dining option. When we return to Koper, this hotel will undoubtedly be our first choice. We highly recommend the Grand Koper Hotel and its wonderful staff to anyone visiting the city!

We stayed at Grand Koper Hotel as a family of four (my wife, two kids, and I) on August 17th for two nights, and our experience was fantastic from start to finish. When we arrived with our rental car, two staff members immediately greeted us, handled all of our luggage, and took care of valet parking. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and the staff personally showed us to our room, giving us a quick overview of the amenities before helping with our baggage. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped with everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, which made for a great night’s sleep after exploring the city. Breakfast, which was included in our stay, was absolutely amazing — a generous variety, beautifully prepared, and something we looked forward to each morning. Overall, Grand Koper Hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. The combination of excellent service, comfort, and attention to detail made our family stay truly memorable. Highly recommended!
