We came and sat down at a free table that hadn't been cleaned yet and the waiter came over without wiping the table, despite the presence of drips from previous guests, he just brushed away the crumbs with his hand and started taking the order. The waiter was in a big hurry and as we were reading the code for the student bons, I wanted to press the button on my phone and the waiter brushed my hand away from my phone. I also noticed that the waiter is unhurried and polite with foreigners, and with those who come often (because other cafes for student bons are already closed) he communicates carelessly and in a hurry. I went to get my salad and in the middle of the dish I noticed that there was an insect in the salad. Of course, when you visit, it's worth bearing in mind that it reeks of dust and mold inside. The toilet doors are scrawled by schoolchildren, and the toilet itself is drowning in mold. And all of this is served with a beautiful communist flag⭐️ I don't understand how people consciously choose to visit...
Read moreWe read reviews on Google and decided to visit as we had read many good comments. Some reviews mentioned that the service was lacking, I unfortunately have to agree. We were greeted by a man that gave the impression that a smile would break his face, such was the fixated frown that he wore. Then we were served by a lady who perhaps taught him everything he knew about smiling. It was as if we were spoiling their evening. Maybe it had been a long season, I cannot say. The food was served quite fast actually and was of a reasonable quality for the price. Lets be honest, the prices are cheap so the expectations can be less in the circumstances, but it was definitely not a negative point regarding the food. Overall we were satisfied, and had full stomachs, but we wouldn't hurry back due to the staff. There was a young lady waitress who was very courteous and had learnt to smile, if the others followed her example this place would earn more...
Read moreNow this is an actual local restaurant and not a tourist trap. They have a regular menu, but there is also the daily menu written on a chalk board with about half a dozen options - that one is all in Slovenian, so install your translator app, it's worth it. The food is classic homemade, like if you have a Slovenian grandma that's what you get. I had Pasta with Tuna for the menu and it was very good, plus soup and salad if you want, for a very low price. I ordered a beer and they brought me a Hirter (from Austria) which is a very good beer in my opinion. Lastly for languages: I spoke Italian and the waitress was very comfortable with that, everyone speaks English as well. The location is a really nice mediterranean square with an olive tree. And now the greatest plus for me: there were a lot of Slovenians eating there. If the locals go there, you know it's good. All in all,...
