I absolutely love this mall. Initially disliked it because there was no covering in the walkways between stores. No real need to walk great distances especially during quiet weekdays if you need to go to a particular store. You can literally park in front of most of the stores or just a few metres away during early weekday hours or early on weekends. The entertainment area is just too gorgeous. Great food and entertainment is offered and service all round is highly commendable. However, restaurants need to offer more specials to keep locals coming for more. The large, comfortable and relaxing walkways are a breath of fresh air. The vibe is superb during weekends especially at month-end and holiday season. More advertising needs to be done to reach the locals about food and other specials...probably make use of local media. The cinema seems overpriced though. Entry and exit is generally trouble-free but a bit chaotic during peak hours. Just be extra careful at the bottom when exiting because sometimes taxi drivers hog the road and stop on the actual stop street to drop off and pick up passengers. Mall security and management needs to step up and assist with this problem. I have personally seen vehicles immediately after accidents there and it's a delay unnecessarily caused by poor planning of that section and/or inconsiderate drivers. The other thing is that people coming from Flanders Mall have to do a full U-Turn at the Cornubia robots if they intend heading back to Durban. That part really, really baffles me! I can't even begin to understand why it has to be so...Or am I missing something? Be that as it may, Cornubia Mall is the future of shopping and...

Read moreAs a regular patron who frequently visits the mall at least three or four times a week I have spent some time observing the access system at the public toilets (next to Gorimas) in particular the automated Designated toilet facilities for Mother-and-Child and Elderly which uses intercom and close circute monitoring.
The access system to these Designated toilet is not conducive to its intended users (children, elderly and frail) as they are difficult to operate. They are literally a death trap to individuals who are claustrophobic and to those with hypertension. The Centre Management must as a matter of urgency consider changing locks mechanism as the current mechanism is a lawsuit waiting to happen.
I watched with dismay on Wednesday,21 August 2024 when a distraught mother tried to rescue her son trapped inside the toilet while the system was non-responsive even though both the mom and her son followed operating instructions displayed on the toilet door.
Plese consider changing the locking system to a more conventional and user-friendly locking mechanism before a life of an elderly or frailer shopper or of one of the mall tenants.
I wonder whose...
