I have been living in Busan, South Korea for more than two years. Cheongsapo is definitely my favorite place to go for a hike, café hopping, and eating delicious seafood. The best time to visit is definitely before sunset to witness beautiful pink sky with the lighthouse view. Great place for family, friends, couples, or even solo travelers. Near the light house, you can walk to the grilled seafood restaurant. My favorite place is 노란마후라 Norangmahora. I recommend to order the assorted seafood plate comes with Abalones, Clams, Shrimps, and Scallops. You will have to grill the seafood by yourself but the staff will definitely give you a hand if you ask. The restaurant only speaks Korean but the staffs are friendly and will try to help you out. Korean usually eats food first, then ends the meal with rice and soup. I like the korean style so I ordered rice and soybean paste soup at the end. The restaurant located near the blue and white light house. Just pass the blue and white light house and the restaurant will be on your right. For café recommendation, I recommend for you to visit Roof top café. Very nice café to feel the...
Read moreSuch a cute and relaxing experience. The staff is so friendly! :D Besides the incredible view, there’s a few activities to do there after you’re done with the observatory. Bring paper or a postcard! They have an ink stamp section you can use for free. Perfect for anyone who journals. They also have a post box where you can send a letter(takes about 6 months to deliver). You can buy mailing stamps and postcards at the little shop nearby. Oh, and you can get more ink stamps inside the store too, at the information desk. There’s also a little lounge inside the shop with an ocean view where you can sit and relax or write a letter/wish. You can make a wish on these little wooden fish and hang it nearby (buy at the shop for 5,000kwon). If you follow the walking trail at the observatory it will lead you to plenty of shops and cafes and eventually to another beach. View on trail is amazing and they have benches to rest. They also have train stops if you prefer to take the train which has seats facing the ocean. Tickets can be bought in the...
Read moreThe Name "Daritdol" and Local Legend "Daritdol" refers to five neatly lined reefs that stretch from the shore to the lighthouse, resembling stepping stones ("daritdol" means "stepping stone rocks" in Korean).
According to local legend, Cheongsapo’s original name meant "blue snake," tied to a story of a devoted wife who waited for her fisherman husband lost at sea. The Dragon King, moved by her loyalty, sent a blue snake to bring her to the underwater palace to reunite with her husband. Due to the negative association with "snake," the village name was later interpreted as "blue sand harbor".
The area is known for its seafood, seaweed, and as a gathering place for local haenyeo...
