It was my birthday and my husband decided to celebrate it with an Eland cruise. We arrived 30 minutes prior to departure time. Our departure time was 11:30 and we were there at 11:00. There were two Eland cruise departure ports at the dock. We went into one of them and lined up for 20 minutes. When we got to the lady, she pointed us to go to the office in Korean (speaking no English at all). There was no instructions or directions of where the office was. When we finally found the office, we were 5 minutes before the departure time. My husband lined up and there was only one couple in front of us who took 10 minutes long to have a conversation with the counter lady. The line was long and no one was there to manage the queue. By the time we got a chance to the counter, it was 11:35! When I told her what happened, she just bluntly said ‘it is your fault.’ She offered us to take the next trip but because we had to catch a plane at that hour, we couldn’t take it. There was no refund whatsoever.
I had a huge argument with my husband that morning right in front of the counter because I was so pissed that he did not jump the queue to speak to the counter before the cruise departed. But all in all, better directions, clearer map, and better staff training and management would have made my Birthday much better. It was no our fault for arriving half an hour earlier. It is not our fault that there was no sign and instructions of where to go after arriving. It is not our fault for a long queue at the office and no one was there to take our QR code in for tickets even when we arrived early. It’s a total mess at Eland. It was a waste of time to book online in advance because it did not mean anything, you still had to line up which made the delay. And the staff speaks few English and are ill-mannered.
Ruined my birthday! Avoid Eland...
Read moreEland cruise itself was amazing!
However, the female staff after the cruise when I was about to get out of the cruise, I was waiting for a male friend in front of the restroom, the staff was yelling at me to ask him to get out of the restroom without any explanation. I was thinking it is emergency so i followed her instruction. But, in the end, nothing happened and it wasn’t a fair situation to yell at someone. I believe that Eland cares much about their service quality but this made my entire experience quite disappointed. Maybe we are not allowed to use toilets at the end or the toilet doesn’t belong to Eland but other restaurants or business which I don’t know at all. But this was ridiculous and i shouldn’t be treated like this. I can’t open the door of men’s toilet and chase anyone to finish their business except an emergency. This happened on December 29, 2022 around 21:50. My friend who visited Korea for the first time was shocked by the staff’s attitude and got an impression like few Koreans can be...
Read moreWe took the night cruise. We board at 8:30 pm. Be advise that if you come here, you need to go directly to the ticketing office because it is located away from rhe boarding gate. We arrived at 6 PM, thinking we can board immediately. But, we were told we needed to reserve tickets. So we went to the ticketing booth and we need to fill up a boarding form. Then we can get the ticket. We got a slot at 8:30pm. But the area has a lot to do so the waiting is not that bad. The cruise was a bit boring. It said that the cruise includes a performance but the show started only when the boat is going back. So going to the banpo rainbow bridge was really boring. There were seats downstairs but upstairs are only standing. But it gets a little crowded. The performance was good however, we were seated at the back so we cannot hear it properly. I went on a few day and night cruises because I like seeing the city in a different view, this was pretty mid. I dont think I would recommend this but still a...
