Location is more suitable for business travellers who want to work & commute in financial district, otherwise there’s not much to do in this whole area as it’s very hard to find a decent or simple eatery which opens near late night compared to living in Dongdaemun and Gangnam. Our room is located high and we can have a glance of the nearby buildings and overlooked further. They don’t provide full amenities compared to 2 other 5-stars hotels we had stayed in during this trip. So prep yourself with our necessary amenities like earbuds, combs, earplugs, sewing kits if needed in any case..The hotel room is quite spacious and toilet is equipped with a bathtub which we didn’t get to utilise at all but my child had once because she wanted to play a bath bomb for 10 mins. Other items like ironing board, iron, Nespresso coffee machine, distilled water bottles, beverages and condiments, safe box, fridge were all provided. And I find it quite troubling as there were too many ‘big-country’ tourists either staying in the hotel or those living in Seoul going to the Hyundai Seoul mall to buy luxury goods. And the entire mall is crazily flooded and packed with youngsters on the day of our check-in and the next day. Some came to window-shop while most others came in for food and perhaps after meals, to seek shelter and shield from the cold. You won’t be believed this you can’t even find a place to eat as all fast food eateries, snacks counters and restaurants were fully unavailable. There were basically long queues everywhere you go. Ended up my super famished poor child had to walk a long way with us & venture out in the cold to find any available restaurant to have our dinner.International breakfast is served daily at L5 and the buffet spread is limited compared to the one we stayed & had in Dongdaemun. We had to pay additional 55,000KRW (SGD55) per day for our young child to dine in with us as her breakfast was not included in our accommodation package. I think it’s really too expensive and given that we always came down only at 9.30am and the breakfast stopped at 10am sharp. The food she always had was a small bowl of cereal, 4 small bite-sized hash-browns and a glass of milk only where she had to eat fast within 30mins before they closed for the day. For such price paid, it’s totally not worth it and we can’t avoid paying lesser despite they knew we only had 30 mins left to dine.Overall the concierge service crews’ attitude and professionalism were excellent and Fairmont had the best staffs with great service i encountered during our 3 weeks stay across 3 different 5-stars hotels. I wished I will have another chance to stay here again but the price for each night is SGD450++, which is...

Service - every staff we interacted with had been helpful, kind, professional and a great pleasure. Dani stood out amongst the rest as she constantly goes above and beyond her line of duty to make us comfortable and gets us whatever we needed.
Room - the absolute best hotel design we have seen. The bathroom and wardrobe area incorporates modular design, allowing guests to customize their flow through sliding walls and partitions. This also helps with light control at night and in the day. Needless to say the aesthetic design was modern lux and very spacious.
Cleanliness- housekeeping was excellent, our personal belongings were treated with utmost care. Thrash is emptied daily and toiletries/towels are replenished as required. Even the toilet and tub was cleaned and dried.
Location - Excellent!! Right beside a huge luxury mall with top notch food choices and shopping. Right beside the train station. Airport transfer is right infront of the hotel. Yeouido Hangang Park is walking distance away. Near enough to tourist destinations with a well connected transport system yet not so near as to feel suffocated/crowded. Taxi prices are reasonable and Fairmont staff are more than happy to assist with your travel plans.
Food - Best hotel breakfast I’ve ever had. The variety and quality is great. Even had Peking duck and Korean Banchan. One measure I use to measure variety across hotel breakfast is the variety of bakery and cheese. Average hotel breakfast offers 5 different baked goods, Fairmont was around 12. Average hotel breakfast cheese variety is 4, Fairmont offers 8.
For comparison, we stayed in Mondrian (also Accor hotel) right before moving into Fairmont. The experience can’t be more different, despite both being 5star hotel.
Mondrian offers us cookies at the reception to welcome us honeymooners, while Fairmont staff personally paid us a visit and gave us two delicious pair of western/eastern snack on a personalised plate along with a handwritten card.
Mondrian’s reception is on level 2, not much guidance provided. Fairmont’s staff were all very eager to assist us with our baggage wherever we go.
Mondrian’s housekeeping chucked my wife’s personal pillow towel on the bedside. Fairmont changed the sheets and placed her personal pillow towel nicely over the pillow for immediate use. The difference between their treatment towards the guest belongings shocked us.
Fairmont provided a true 5star...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul. This is definitely a first class, 5 star hotel. We stayed there twice in September 2025 (took a short trip to Busan in between stays). The facilities are very clean and modern. Same with the rooms, they are large, comfortable, and clean. Restaurants are the best. But what stands out is the customer service. Every employee is so welcoming and extremely nice. Each time we walked through the lobby or halls, every employee greeted us and assisted us when we needed help. The location is in Yeouido, which is across the river from downtown (Myeongdong and other tourist areas) and west of Gangnam. It is in the financial/government area. While some may think this is not near the "action" of the city, we found this area very nice and with 2 subway stations nearby, all areas of Seoul were easily accessible. (Taxi's were also always available at the hotel) The distance is not very far from the other more popular areas. The hotel is also connected to the fancy Hyundai Seoul Mall. The Fairmont has a door in their lobby that enters the mall. Also, the IFC Mall is very near and the IFC, Hyundai Mall, Fairmont, and the Subway are all connected via an underground corridor. We enjoyed shopping and eating at both malls since there is a variety of food.
I would like to especially recognize Miss Dani (Front Desk). She was so nice to us and helped with our many questions. She was able to find answers to all of our questions and we were always happy to see her smiling face when we returned to the hotel each day. Great customer service from Dani!!! We would also like to say thank you to Damien (Front Desk), Kira (Front Desk), Esther (Concierge), Jennie (Concierge/Lobby), and the 2 Gentlemen outside at the front door (sorry, don't know their names). They all assisted us so much during our stays. Also, thank you to Mr. Earl (Director of Food and Bev) and his staff at the Spectrum Buffet. This restaurant/buffet was the best!! Excellent food and very nice design. Thanks Earl for always stopping by to check on us. We hope to see all of our friends at the Fairmont again whenever we return to Seoul.
We highly recommend the Fairmont to everyone. We hope to one day return to Korea and our first choice will be the Fairmont...
