Our group of 13 (6 adults, and 7 boys) had a wonderful time touring Namdaemun Market, Ikseon-dong, and Insa-dong with Jia, Hailey, and Claire last week.
Pre-tour communication and booking via phone and email was both prompt and smooth. Hailey provided terrific suggestions for our custom itinerary that helped us to maximize our time in the area.
During the tour, we were able to try a variety of new foods and explore interesting, new neighborhoods at the same time. They arranged all of the samplings, payments, vehicle transportation, and even ran ahead to wait in line at popular places on our behalf such that all we had to do was show up and eat. All of the guides were very knowledgeable about the neighborhoods and a great resource to ask about additional food recommendations to check out during our time in Seoul.
For families, I have to mention that the tour was a hit with our boys (all 8 and under) as well. The O'ngo team were so kind towards our kids, and our boys requested we go back to many of the same places after the tour was over to get another taste of the delicious samples we tried, including hotteok, wangmandu, sikhye, odeng, samgyeopsal, chadol bagi, and sweet treats in Ikseon-dong at the end.
We very much appreciated all of your insider recommendations and look forward to booking another tour with you the next time we are...

Our family had the absolute pleasure of participating in a cooking class with Jia during our recent trip to South Korea, and it was truly one of the highlights of our entire visit.
Jia is not only an incredibly talented and knowledgeable instructor, but she also has a rare gift for making people feel at home. She created such a warm and welcoming environment that allowed everyone—from all corners of the world—to connect, laugh, and share stories. By the end of the class, it genuinely felt like we had made new friends.
The class itself was well-organized, hands-on, and full of delicious learning. We loved being guided step-by-step through traditional Korean recipes, and the best part was sitting down together afterward to enjoy the incredible meal we had prepared. It was more than a class—it was a cultural exchange, a feast, and a memory we’ll treasure forever.
We can’t recommend O’ngo Food Communications highly enough. If you're visiting Korea and want an authentic, heartwarming, and delicious experience, this is the...
Read moreLOVED this cooking class! Chef Jia was amazing, explained and demonstrated cooking for a complete meal - a wonderful salad, entree and side dish. She was super accommodating as we had booked the only convenient day during our stay in Seoul where the menu was for spicy pork, but I don't eat pork - I had put in my comments that one of our party ate fish only, but that I would just cook and not eat the pork. However, she had a lovely fish fillet deboned and ready for me to cook in the same style as the pork, plus some spinach to stir fry with it because that was the way it should be! So considerate and the meal was delicious. We arrived early for the market tour which was really interesting - I never would have found that secret underground market nearby. With respect to the market tour, be sure to show up early for the tour -- there was a comment in the footnotes when I booked the cooking class about the earlier time for the market tour, but it was not obvious and was not on the voucher (we booked through klook). Highly recommend this class - will do it again next...
