The scenic viewpoint in Bukchon Hanok Village that offers breathtaking panoramic views of the traditional hanok houses and the surrounding cityscape. This photo spot is located at the intersection of Bukchon-ro 11-gil and Bukchon-ro 12-gil, and it's one of the most iconic and popular spots for capturing stunning photographs of the village. From this spot, you get to admire the intricate architectural details of the hanok houses, with their tiled roofs and wooden facades creating a picturesque scene against the backdrop of Seoul's modern skyline. The viewpoint provides a perfect vantage point for capturing the timeless beauty and charm of Bukchon Hanok Village. Photographers flock to this spot during all times of the day to capture the changing light and shadows, but sunrise and sunset are particularly magical moments to visit. The warm hues of the sun casting over the village create a mesmerizing ambiance that enhances the beauty of the surroundings. For visitors seeking Instagram-worthy shots or simply wanting to soak in the tranquil atmosphere of Bukchon Hanok Village, Bukchon Yukgyeong is a must-visit photo spot.

It's a village of traditional Korean housing called Hanok at Jongno district. You are able to enjoy not only the view of traditional Hanok but also the renovated version of Hanok which most likely used for commercial such as coffee place, exhibition galleries, tea place , etc. .I had to walk in the sun and severe humidity,(a very unusual weather now in Korea), but with the clean blue sky you meet after climbing the steep road to the top, you may feel every step made worth it. 😊 .You could try the route to Samcheong-dong at the end of Bukchon Village and then head to Insa-dong. .One thing here is the tourists are not allowed to enter this village after 5pm. It's for the sake of the neighbors who actually lives here. I understand they would have been suffering from the noise all day of the tourists and disturbed by them entering their house (literally their house) without permission.

Tips: rent out a Hanbok (a Korean attire worn centuries ago), wear comfy shoes, and be prepared for a walk-a-ton in up and down hilly narrow streets of a preserved houses in a active community where people still resides (as well as house construction); be respectful, be aware of your surroundings as cars or motorcycles/ scooters do pass by, and minimize noise as peak hours tend to get a crowd, specifically in this photo spot (as you notice police signage all over indicating this property is private with no entry). Also, renting a Hanbok for a day is worth the money as one can come in and out (re-entry) the two palace complexes that surrounds Bukchon Hanok Village. With this, overall Xperience is a blast with tons of memorable pics and videos… Korean escape to the K-drama world. Enjoy!

Bukchon Hanok Village: A Journey Through Time in Seoul Bukchon Hanok Village stands as a captivating time capsule nestled amidst Seoul's bustling cityscape. This historic neighborhood, characterized by its labyrinthine alleys and beautifully preserved traditional Korean houses (hanoks), offers visitors a glimpse into the city's rich past. The village's name, Bukchon, meaning "northern village," reflects its location north of the Cheonggyecheon Stream and Gyeongbokgung Palace. The hanoks, with their distinctive tiled roofs, wooden beams, and serene courtyards, exude an air of tranquility and elegance. Many of these centuries-old houses have been meticulously restored and repurposed as tea houses, guesthouses, cultural centers, and museums, offering visitors a chance to immerse themselves in traditional Korean architecture and lifestyle. Strolling through Bukchon's narrow alleys is like stepping back in time. The rhythmic tapping of footsteps on the stone pathways, the gentle rustling of leaves in the courtyards, and the occasional glimpse of residents going about their daily lives create a unique ambiance that is both peaceful and nostalgic. While Bukchon is a popular tourist destination, it remains a living village where locals reside and continue to uphold traditional customs. Visitors are encouraged to explore the village respectfully, keeping noise levels down and avoiding intruding on private residences. Bukchon Hanok Village offers a multifaceted experience, combining historical significance with cultural immersion and a tranquil escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Whether you're interested in architecture, history, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat, Bukchon is a must-visit...
