Airbnb Experience Review:
I had a great time learning how to make/shape the bean paste rice cakes! Please be punctual or early! I was running a tad late, but the host was kindly accommodating. If late, the dough may dry out and your whole experience may not be as it was intended.
The experience was a little different than I expected - I thought I would learn starting from how to make the dough and filling, but it was focused on making the shapes and designs. After learning about how to make the dough and filling, I understood it's an intensive process that needs more time and care than an airbnb experience could possibly offer. The designs I was taught to make were too beautiful to eat.. so I didn't eat mine, but was told if I leave them out they will dry and be good for display pieces :) I did however eat the ones that the host gifted me and they were so delicious~
The studio was decorated with displays of works, many more intricate than the rice cakes you'll be making for this experience. If you're interested in similar experiences, you can book...
Read moreJinsil’s class was one of the highlights of our trip - we would recommend this to anyone! We cooked four very tasty dishes, but to our surprise, we also learned the history about many of them. Jinsil was very warm and welcoming, answering all of our questions and going above and beyond to make the experience great. When I mentioned I would like to buy one of the seasonings used for my dad, she took extra time to show my husband and I the market across the street and show us where to buy it. She also gave us a tour of different items in Korean cooking and taught us so much about both the history of Korea, but also the current day-to-day life of a local. Earlier in the week, we had done a four hour tour around Seoul to learn about the culture - I can confidently say, we learned even more in just a few hours with Jinsil!
Thank you so much for a memorable evening and your kindness. This will certainly be one of our fondest memories...

This dessert making class is fun and you guarantee to take home delicious sweet rice cake. (The dessert rice cake is perishable, so eat them all within a few days) This class is suitable for everyone, regardless of your cooking skill or how artsy you are.
