San Juan Playa — Attraction in Alicante

I've known this beach since it's conception. 40 years ago.

Until some years ago, the city counsel allowed a lot of beach bars on this beach. Now, with all the "corona" resictriones, 90% of the bars are gone. Not allowed to continue.

What amazes me also is the frequency and the number of "police surveillance" (on beach motor bikes) here. As if the crime all of a sudden went up. No way.

Until ten years ago, there was no "life guard" for men or women in distress. And then, these useless workers popped up all over.

The number of fatalities is still exactly the same as ten years ago. Useless.

Everybody feels the suppression of the local "authorities". What these employees forget, is that we ourselves are The Authority. They work for US. All we have to do is arrest these thugs ourselves.

The beach is nice, but the beach staff cannot behave normally with the tourists. We didn’t see any signs for the payment of sunbeds. We visited the beach at the end of the day and layed on two sunbeds for a couple of minutes. The staff (an elder man and a woman) approached us to pay for the beds. As it was the end of the day, we immediately got off the beds and said that we didn’t know we have to pay so we leave then. The elder man started shouting with us in Spanish relentlessly, even though I’d stated that I can’t speak spanish so please shout at my head in English.
