My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Pamplona for four nights during the San Fermin Festival. We booked this hotel using our IHG credit card points, so this review will focus on our experience rather than the cost.||Location:|The hotel is located quite a distance from the city center, which could be inconvenient for some. However, there are regular buses that go to the city center, making it manageable. The walk from the bus stop to the hotel is about 15 to 20 minutes, which can feel like a bit of a hike, especially after a long day of festivities.||Room:|The room was spacious and clean, which provided a comfortable retreat after the bustling activities of the festival.||Breakfast:|Purchasing the breakfast package proved to be a great deal. During the week of the Bull Run festivities, the hotel offers a convenient breakfast schedule. There’s a continental breakfast available from 5:30 to 8:00, a full buffet breakfast from 8:00 to 10:30, and then the continental breakfast again for another two hours. This setup was perfect for us since we got up early to participate in or watch the bull run. After the run, we could return to the hotel and enjoy a full breakfast, which was a great way to refuel for the rest of the day.||Overall, our stay at Holiday Inn Express Pamplona was pleasant and convenient for attending the San Fermin Festival. The distance from the city center was a minor inconvenience, but the clean and spacious room, along with the well-timed breakfast options,...
Read moreBooked in advance, was almost put off by the description stating " located on an industrial centre' but it was ideally situated for our journey to St Malo Ferry France from Spain, only 5/10 mins drive back on route next morning. So happy we were not put off by description of hotel location, it was a great find and will use again next year. Tucked away up a corner of a (Comercial Centre) very quiet, free parking right outside doors, well lit and plentiful. Opposite was an Aldi so we stocked up on food and drink. We noticed a Wok restaurant 5 minutes walk away from hotel, Leroy Merlin, shoe shops and clothing shops plus what looked like a large shopping centre in the middle, we didn't venture out to shop but looked like plenty to see and yes there were Industrial units around the outside of surrounding centre but not near hotel location and no inconvenience or noise. The Hotel Itself Spotless and welcoming entrance Very pleasant staff Lifts to rooms Room was an unexpected delight (only because of the price including breakfast) room with sofa, flatscreen TV oppt, great for world cup match on our overnight stay. Bed was out of this world comfortable with whiter than the driven snow bedding. I don't know if this hotel is new or been recently decorated but it certainly seemed like it. We have already recommended it to travellers on the ferry. This is our opinion of this hotel and how...
Read moreExcellent and helpful staff in two young chaps at check in. The rooms were large, airy and well maintained and the shower offered a strong and powerful jet. The biggest negative is trying to actually reach / find the hotel in a confused road layout with poor road signage. A true labyrinth - arriving through the Aldi car-park! On the positive the breakfast was filling and offered a great variety from Spanish omelette to scrumptious Chocolate croissants and robust flavoursome coffees. The breads were equally crunchy and offered quality. Being a little pernickety perhaps the pressed tomato lacked punch and acidity. Once acquainted with the hotel location (ironically after our 5th night) it proves a sound base for exploring neighbouring Pamploma, Bilbao, Vitoria and our most recommendable place Jaca alongside San Sebastian. The quaint and historical Basque villages were also wonderful as was the outstanding Basque cuisine. We would love to...
