Dear Ana, Thank you for the prompt response. All i would say is all the greens need work on them & with that in mind it would be courteous to share the conditions in advance. This trip we drove 3-30 hrs the day before staying overnight to finish our golf on what I considered to be the best in the region, unfortunately it did not deliver this time. Kind regards Seth
2024 Posted in 2022 & returned again beginning of February 2023, once again excellent experience. Sadly we played Saturday 20th January 2024 & the condition of the course was very poor, especially the greens….. it looks like they have a disease, the 18th was really shocking. Went in to the pro-shop after to ask what has happened & was told it because of lack of rain & they may need some treatment…… sorry but i have been around golf for 40 yrs & they have a major challenge, something has gone wrong. Very surprised we were not informed in the pro-shop or by the starter what to expect We had 2 players visiting 1st time & i had really talked the course up, very disappointing.
2022 We played 2 days , Sunday 27th Jan 18 holes & Wed 2nd Feb 36 holes. Last time I played here was some 30 yrs ago & it was as I remember it , fantastic shot makers course having to play fade & draw shots with great green designs, not overall long & the par 3 3rd at some 90m is one of the best you will play anywhere. Condition was good for the time of the year. In my opinion its one of the best in the region. We will look to return again next...
Read moreLove the course, not a boring hole with a lot of undulations. Very spinny greens and the fairways were in immaculate conditions. I chose to walk which was slightly more straining then usual 18 holes lots of up and downs but had my playing partners with a buggy which part from the obvious benefits was very useful in terms of getting all information from the display. Especially when playing the first time! The staff there is awesome, you get offered everything you need with water, flag positions a few jokes too etc. Played twice now and hasn't been a sign of slow play and Marshal's do their job!
Only one thing that was an absolute disgrace was the kitchen. I ate the club sandwich the first time 15eur for some toasted gross white bread , a tiny slice of chicken, and like 4 crisps on the side. The whole thing looked questionable and the taste was even more questionable, I've had better tasting Tesco sandwiches for 3eur. The second time was the Burger which was just a sloppy mess. The bread was worse then McDonald's, the beef was again of questionable quality, the cheese I wouldn't even know where to source such stuff from. Eitherway for 20eur i don't expect gourmet but this was appalling for a golf club at this level. Also pretty sure the mayo was off.. or again just bad mayo 😂
I really hope you take the time to review your food asap. And make the required changes.
Thanks for a...
Read moreWhat a great place to have my first two rounds of golf in Costa de Sol. Played here yesterday and today. The course presents well with carts able to be driven on all but 4 of the holes which showed some damp areas due to the lack of sun shine because of over hanging trees. Be aware of hole 3. Its a par 3 that may look easy but look closely at your club selection. It's very easy to over club. Hole 16, have a look at this hole as you leave hole 15 from the high point on the cart path. This is the no1 stroke/handicap hole. What a view. The greens were constant and fast. Having a cart is good move unless you enjoy the walk. The course is up a down quite a bit and there can be a small walk to the next tee. During our game we were pasted twice by the course staff with a refreshments cart cold drinks etc. All the ground staff that we passed were very friendly as were the the pro shop staff. Our first game was a slow day with a very slow couple in front who did want to let us through and thought they had all day to play the game but today (Saturday) we were not held up at all. We did not go into the club house after the game to have any refreshments. I would recommend this course if you like a challenge. There are many areas that you are hitting blind and a second round will sort this out. Its not a long course to play. This is one "kiwi" golfer who had a good time....
