Platja Estanys — Attraction in Campos

Estanys Beach is a long and wide stretch of sand, popular with many visitors yet still comfortable enough for a relaxing beach day. The water here is pleasantly warm all day long, making it ideal for extended swims. While visibility isn’t perfect, the sea is generally clear and transparent, with no seaweed and no strong winds, keeping conditions calm and inviting throughout the day. One major drawback is parking — the car park is not nearby, and you may need to walk 20–30 minutes from where you leave your vehicle to reach the shore. Despite this inconvenience, the beach itself remains a good choice for swimming and relaxing, particularly for those who value consistently warm, calm waters. If you want to get in and avoid the main sun, get here before 9.30am and you can park on the streets which lead to the roundabout and large hotel at the end. There is shade on patches of the beach but this disappears before 11am and gets baking hot.

Water is clear but there was a slight film on top- not sure if that’s from the boats moored offshore or from people’s sunscreen but it’s got that “estuary-feel” in the water with the muddy bottom not feeling super clean.

My elderly parents got nipped by a couple of the small fish as did a couple of other swimmers. Drew a little blood but the lifeguards were helpful in applying iodine. Watch out for those!

Long comfortable beach and close to a Restaurant positioned right in the middle. This year there were a bit more people than usual, and the occupancy reached almost to the end of this beach, (last year it was much quieter). It is really spacious so there are no space problems and everyone can lie down without too much trouble. Only one complaint: this year I noticed a little too much coming and going of jet skis there were buoys with the entrance channel but then They were parking undisturbed on the shoreline, thus obstructing the passage of bathers. Bad move!!! I hope next year this rude situation will not...
