So this is my honest review of this hotel there were good things but also to summarise, I probably wouldnât return. |Firstly be warned that it is 2.5 hours bus trip from the airport, which is a long time with little children. You get dropped off at one of the other rosamar hotels and you have to walk about 4 mins with your luggage to get to the hotel, not so bad if we had known before hand, we had no idea where we were going. But that is on the bus company not the hotel.|Check in was smooth, but the receptionist wrote the incorrect mealtimes on our little card so we thought we only had an hour for lunch and an hour for dinner so spent the first 3 days rushing before we realised. |The rooms are clean, but quite dated, some modernisation is needed. Our air con didnât work. The balcony door glass had separated from the actual metal of the door and was loose. There is a fridge in the room, it would be really nice to have a bottle of water in the fridge when you arrive at 1am with nowhere to get a drink. There are vending machines which are coins only, no good if you havenât got coins or havenât brought cash and just a card.|The rooms are set up so that you have a double (two singles pushed together) and a single bed in one room. This was no good for our family, but they happily made up the single sofa bed for us.|Sun loungers, unfortunately if you want a decent space it is a case of queuing at the door at 8:50 waiting for the doors to open. I donât particularly like doing this but if you want to watch your children in the pool from your sun lounger the beds are limited, there are plenty of other beds not next to the pool though. |The pools are good except some sharp tiles underneath the water which cut feet, and the surround next to the little pool and the pirate ship is quite sharp stones. Inflatables not allowed in big pool apart from rubber rings and baby floatation devices, you can use them in the small pool though. |Slides - minimum height restriction of 120cm, and this is where my biggest issue lies. The first 3 days my son (who is 115cm) and many other smaller children were allowed to use the slides. Suddenly on day 4 the lifeguard (mid shift) randomly decided to stop smaller children using it, cue lots of crying and confused kids. He was also very rude and clearly disliked children from the way he was telling them to âget outâ and the way he spoke to parents. One lady said she got a waiver from reception (her child was 104cm) so I went to reception and the rather abrupt receptionist told me no you can only get one if they are 118/119 and basically said the hotel takes no responsibility for the lifeguards. So one rule for me and another for someone else? Iâd like to add this height restriction isnât advertised when you book or I wouldnât have booked it! Again, the little boats, my 18 month old was allowed to go on with my partner walking behind the boat to ensure she was safe, next day he was not allowed to do that. There is no consistency with the lifeguards at all. |Mealtimes - absolute chaos to be honest, too many people packed into a small area. My daughterâs high chair was constantly getting tripped over by people. I was worried she was going to be sent flying. Other Guests are rude and ignorant which makes quite a stressful experience. The queuing for the eggs and pancakes (both the same queue) makes people confused thinking people are queuing for one not the other, so people push in and then others shout at them etc etc. the food itself was absolutely fine, kind of samey each day but itâs ok. |A lot of people keep their kids awake until about 1am so it isnât very quiet at night. We went to bed at 2am on the night we arrived and kids were still up and it was still noisy. |Mini club is free of charge which is great. Entertainment staff are fab. |All in all an average stay, for me itâs the slide issue (and the rude staff) and too many people packed into a small space which puts me off...
Read moreThis is my honest review after staying for 5 nights with my three children (aged 13, 12, and 8). I really want to share our experience clearly â the good and the not-so-good â especially for other Black families thinking about staying here.
This was our first holiday in 6 years. It was also my first time going away alone with all three of my children, and they truly needed a break â itâs been a rough year. My youngest has been in and out of hospital for the past 4 years, and this was the first time she was finally well enough to travel. We were really looking forward to making special memories, but unfortunately, there were some things that really impacted our experience.
Arrival & First Impressions: The hotel is easy to find after your transfer, but you should know there's a steep hill right before you get to the entrance. After a flight with three tired kids and luggage, dragging everything uphill was a struggle. Itâs a small detail but should be mentioned.
The lobby itself is small but clean, with plenty of seating and posters about local events. There's a luggage scale which is useful, though it does charge (coins needed). Staff at the front were polite but didnât go out of their way to engage.
The Pool & Facilities: The pool area was one of the best parts â big, clean, and perfect for all ages. My kids especially loved the water slides. But the rules around inflatables were really confusing. Some days they were allowed, some days they werenât, and it felt like whenever my children used them, the rules suddenly changed. Other families were left alone with theirs, which made it feel unfair and inconsistent.
Hotel Entertainment: Entertainment was just okay â we only attended on the first and last night. The first night we went just to check it out, and thatâs when it really hit us that we were the only Black family there. Thatâs also when we first noticed the stares, and the general feeling of being watched or judged. We avoided it after that, except for the last night when my 8-year-old begged to go see the âclown sisters show,â which she had been looking forward to. She did enjoy it, but the uncomfortable feeling still lingered.
Noise & Night-Time Experience: If youâre on the first floor, donât expect to get to sleep early. The entertainment is close to the first-floor rooms and you can hear it clearly. Even after it finishes, the walls are paper-thin. You can hear everything from the rooms next door â drunk guests swearing, singing, and shouting, sometimes until 1â2am. Not ideal for a family hotel. I had to keep reassuring my kids and trying to drown out the noise, but it wasnât easy.
General Atmosphere & Racial Dynamic: We were the only Black family in the hotel during our entire stay â and we didnât see any others in town either. Itâs not just that, though. We felt different. The stares, the lack of smiles, the change in tone when speaking to us â it was noticeable.
At the shows, my 8-year-old went to sit and watch the clown performance and came back upset because another child gave her a âmean look.â Sheâs usually the first to make friends and is so friendly, so that really got to her.
When we went for meals, it often felt like we were ignored â we had to keep asking to get drinks while other guests were being served as they sat. The vibe was not welcoming, and honestly, we felt like we were being treated differently because of our...
Read moreRecently arrived home from a 10 night stay here with my girlfriend.
Up on arrival we checked in at the main desk in which we got given our blue all inclusive wristbands and a green card for meals along with our room card. We got very little explanation of the facilities ie where we have lunch/snacks/evening meal we didnât even get pointed in the right direction of the lifts or anything. Arriving shortly after midnight it would of been nice to get offered at least a drink of water or pointed in the right direction of the vending machine.
Our room was nice and clean with a decent shower etc. The room was slightly on the smaller side but that being said the bed was comfortable and it had everything we needed.
We stayed all inclusive and both me and my girlfriend couldnât seem to get drunk off the all inclusive alcohol. The beer is San Miguel but even that didnât seem strong. After 3 days we found ourselves paying for drinks which were branded and we were much happier, along with 90% of the bar staff who only seem to crack a smile or conversation with you when you are paying. I feel they treat non all inclusive people completely different to the all inclusive for instance all inclusive arenât aloud to take snacks around the pool? Only if you pay? We found ourselves ordering the chicken Brie and bbq sauce panini at a price of 6⏠per person, the first one was lovely the second one had no Brie in and appeared very dry and the third time we ordered it wasnât even edible so we had to get a refund. Safe to say the food is definitely hit and miss not just for paid food but also the all inclusive food too. Some nights it would be half decent and other nights it would be like a toddler has cooked it. Again we didnât really use the all inclusive a whole lot and found ourselves going out most days/nights for dinner/tea.
Location wise it is good. The hotel is up a slight hill but that didnât bother us. If you go down the hill take a right you come into the main shop strip and keep going left it takes you to the beach front where there are loads of bars/restaurants etc.
Other things which could be improved is the air conditioning ours wasnât very good and we actually asked to have it looked at but I am doubtful anyone did as it didnât seem to improve. Also the towels were quite thin and seemed to take forever to dry my skin. Also the atmosphere around the pool is pretty dead due to lack of music? Nothing even on in the background apart from for about 30 minutes when they do water aerobics. Even at night on the terrace bit they didnât play any music? Seems strange because music can completely lift the atmosphere. Staff could be a lot friendlier regardless of if someone is all inclusive or not. The main thing this hotel has going for it is a clean room and a pretty comfy bed and that is the only reason I have given it 3/5 stars. Had it been for the stafff and food alone I would give it 1/5 stars.
Would I stay here again? Yes but only to use the room as a base and have the occasional dip in the pool. I would by no means stay all inclusive again.
Also there is a adult jacuzzi pool and sauna/steam room which is nice despite it being full of kids and no one to tell them that it...
