Sala Porta Miñá — Attraction in Lugo

Neat, small museum that is great intro to Lugo history and good first stop. Sadly, aside from subtitles on a really informative short video, there is no English anywhere (Galician & Spanish). No English guidebook or audio guide. The placards are new and, from having translated every one of them on a translation tool, they are concise, well-written, and well-curated. So sad with all that recent renovation they didn't include English to make it accessible to foreigners. The way the text is colored and laid out on placards makes it easy on the eye but difficult to scan Spanish using a mobile translation tool. If you scan Galician, you can get a clean shot...so make sure your translation tool handles Galician (Google Translate does). Still a "must visit" as the artifacts and 101 intro are great. Admission is free, but I'd much rather pay and have those funds facilitate English...

Lovely little museum with free entry. New modern feel. Great history of Lugo with amazing insight into the drainage and sewage system of the old Roman town and models and pictures of how it would have looked. Lovely curator who put on English subtitles for us to keep up with the fast Spanish video all about Lugo. Loved it and so amazing to see how the town developed and learn...

La salle d'exposition Porta Miñá se trouve sur Rúa do Carme s/n, en quittant le mur par Porta Miñá sur la gauche. C'est dans un bâtiment séparé. Il y a l'exposition permanente "Imago Antiqua. Lugo Romano". C'est une exposition sur le passé romain de Lugo. L'échantillon est organisé en deux blocs. Le premier bloc couvre les trois premiers siècles de la vie de la ville, des origines de la ville à la construction de l'enceinte. Le deuxième bloc comprend les siècles suivants, de la fortification de la ville au s. III après JC jusqu'à son déclin dans le s. V avec l'arrivée des Suèves. Il y a aussi une vidéo très intéressante dans laquelle ils expliquent tout. Fortement recommandé de le visiter.
