Having visited just about every country and every big city in Europe I can't remember of a more impressive main street than this one. Way busier than London's Oxford Street, way larger than Via Monte Napoleone, way nicer and liveable than them all! All along the way buildings are beautiful. When asking some expert about their architectural style you'll get to know that most of it is a mish-mash of styles (including neo-gothic, modernism and the bourgeois grand residence prevailing in the late XIX century) all accomplished under the umbrella of romanticism which favours all sorts of revivalism. Everything was put together with extreme good taste and a great sense of proportion. Sometimes you see different styles standing side by side but instead of colliding with each other they rather result as part of an ensemble because the colours and the proportions always match, creating a marvellous diversity within an homogeneous environment. I have seen people living in London amazed at the size and buzz of the crowds here. There's nothing like it anywhere else in Europe. Still, it is orderly and pleasant to walk. Great for shopping or just to feel the heart of Madrid. It's a short walk to Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. I've been here many times but it still surprises me and seems to have...

BEAUTIFUL buildings left and right, up and down! This is the most popular and Gorgeous Street in Madrid. This Street is a Must, it goes from Plaza Cibeles to Plaza España, maybe longer on both sides. Remarkable Architecture on a very busy street with not only regular car traffic but hundreds of people from all over the world shopping, dinning, entertaining, and walking by. Anything you're looking for you will find it on this street, from food to shoes, to clothing, to jewerly, to cell phones, all the most popular retail stores are located on this street, Primark, Zara, Mango, Huawei, Salvador Bachiller, Teathers, the most beautiful McDonalds, Ale Hop, Adidas, Nike, Starbucks, just to name a few. There is a bus that runs thru the street and there is also a Metro station named "La Gran Via" with two exits that are facing the McDonald's. La Gran Via is located in Madrid Centro. You must visit and enjoy this remarkable street filled with such a beautiful architecture, a mix of old with modern, just...
