This is a decent place to try, if you have never had paella and don't know what to expect. I have tried many paellas and decided to try this place based on reviews, I could have definitely chosen better. Several reasons contributed to not having a great time, listing below: made a reservation to avoid disappointment, got to the place on time, was asked to wait. Minutes later, a group of 3 people without reservations appeared, and they were admitted immediately, we followed as an aftermath. we were sat to a table next to the group of 3, the waiter came and took their order quite fast and we had to wait another 10mins, trying to catch the waiters' attention. there were several waiters around, but it seemed like they were moving from the one room to the other without really doing anything. we were told that paella should be ordered by at least 2 people per table, so we (2 ppl) ordered a 2-portion paella. Based on my experience, paella comes in a cast-iron dish and each person serves themselves, having the crispy rice at the bottom of the dish as a treat. In this restaurant, we were shown how our paella looked (a waiter came and showed us the dish), then he took it to another room and appeared with portions in plates. Not sure why we were not allowed to serve ourselves, if "our" dish was tailor-ordered for 2 ppl as instructed, and not sure why our portions were not "sectioned" in front of us. the portions themselves were of a decent size, but in my opinion not worth the ~21€ per portion, as there were ingredients missing, and the amount of seafood/meat was not enough (1 shrimp, 1 crawfish, 2 clams, 2 pieces of chicken, some bits of calamari and fish). Overall, not the best place I've visited, not worth it if you know what paella is about. On the positive side, the waiters were accommodating of the fact we did not speak Spanish and they answered our questions. Also, the castillian soup...

A Total Tourist Trap – Dishonest and Overpriced!

We had one of the worst dining experiences at this Spanish restaurant. The waiter, who also seemed to act as the manager, was incredibly bossy and overbearing. He was a big, huge man with red glasses, grey hair, and a fat belly that protruded out. His scornful attitude and constant hovering made the entire experience uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

He claimed to “recommend” dishes but didn’t actually let us order what we wanted. Instead, he insisted we start with a salad and a Spanish omelette, assuring us they were just small starters. When we asked him about the Spanish omelette and whether it only had egg and potato or if it included meat, he rudely shushed us, intruded into our conversation, and condescendingly put us down. He snapped, “I don’t know how omelettes are made in other countries. In Spain, we make it like this. I don’t care about France or Germany.” This unnecessary and patronizing comment completely ruined the mood.

To our surprise, the portions were enormous, and when the bill came, we were shocked to see outrageous prices – €30 for the omelette and €20 for the salad.

For the main course, we ordered a vegetarian paella for four people, but the overall cost of the meal was ridiculous. On top of that, he charged us for bread we never asked for and brought out a large bottle of water instead of the small one we had ordered – naturally, we were charged for the more expensive option.

At one point, I wanted to ask for some ketchup, but I was honestly too scared to say anything, fearing he might scold me.

It was clear we were being taken advantage of as tourists. The waiter’s bossy attitude and dishonest behavior ruined the entire experience. Avoid this place at all costs – it’s overpriced, uncomfortable, and...

Worst restaurant in Madrid!!!. I don’t understand why it is famous among Korean travelers. I went there on purpose because I heard there was soup paella, but the experienced grandfather said it was impossible. He yelled at us that it was impossible to do the "no salt and lots of broth" that everyone recommended. Then, he persuaded my husband to order the special paella + lobster combination instead of the lobster, shrimp and clam combination paella that we wanted. In the end, we received the bill 150 euros When the food came out, it was so salty and the rice wasn't cooked that I couldn't eat it. Before I had even eaten 1/3 of it, he came and took away all the plates and the paella. He never made eye contact with me, but at the end, he expressed his satisfaction. When I told him that the food was too salty and that I didn't like it at all, he gave me an incomprehensible look and walked away. This is the worst restaurant in all of Spain. I never imagined that I would experience something like this in Madrid, the last city of my trip. This is a place that completely ignores customers' requests and instead makes them order menus they don't want, overcharging them and only looking out for their own profits. Why did they get rid of paella that was barely touched? Koreans, please do not recommend this restaurant. I think someone is probably taking kickbacks to recommend it. Please don't be fooled. Never go there. We must boycott. There's no need to post a picture, it's not worth it. It's...

There were some issues with this place, unfortunately! My husband really did not like this place at all. First, we didn't know that you can't order one portion of anything - it's a minimum of two portions for each item. My husband asked if they could make a chicken and shrimp paella, but they said that they couldn't make any special ones. They ended up recommending that he buy a side of shrimp and put it on the paella. The shrimp side ended up being $16 for about 8 shrimps, and they were actually not good - it was a bad batch and tasted sandy and bad. Second, we ordered the big pitcher of sangria. It was good, but not strong at all. It tasted like there was no alcohol in it. When we got the paellas, I thought mine was good, but not anything special. It was mostly rice, with some of the seafood toppings. I think they were a bit cheap with the seafood toppings, so I felt like I ate 90% rice. Then they kept us waiting 10+ minutes for the check at the end. I am rating this 3 out of 5, because the manager did come to us at the end and removed the bad shrimp and the bread (which they gave to us without telling us it was an additional cost) from the check. At least he was being reasonable, while the waiters were not at all.

Based on reviews, I tried this place. The paella was ok but very expensive for what was served. Overall, this wasn’t a good dining experience and you can find better options. Perhaps it was the Sunday evening experience, but I would not recommend to a friend. Below is my experience: Despite having a reservation, we were not seated or invited to sit until after folks who turned up without reservation. After taking a seat, it took about 20 minutes to just get the attention of a waiter so we could make an order. I ordered a two portion paella since this was what we were advised. My expectation, based on previous experiences, was to have the paella served straight from the dish it was cooked in. The waiter arrived to show our dish but then proceeded to take the dish into another room. He then reappear after 5 minutes with two plates of paella. Not sure why the paella had to be served on a plate and why it could have been done in front of us. In any case, the portion size looked considerably smaller than the original dish presented to us. Judging from what little was served, the paella was ok but extremely expensive at €22 pp (very little seafood and meat provided).
