Situated just about 5 km north of Nerja, this is a must do if in the region. Parking can be a bit tight, but helpfully some enterprising people have set up a car park just outside the gate. Entry is €18, but as a senior (65+), you get in for €15.50. Download the audio guide prior to entry(free wifi available) and enjoy a good description of all the stalagmites and stalactites. The caves were discovered in 1959 and they have really been well preserved. They do not allow any flash photography and no selfie sticks. There is good signage and enough lighting to move around. Around 400 steps, one can spend the best part of an hour there. There is a restaurant on site and provides great views of the Mediterranean. The added botanical park can be given a miss if pressed for time. A visit is highly...

This place was brilliant, really well organised and lots to do and see. We have been to lots of caves and this set of caves are definitely the best by far. Massive and impressive! The facilities are great too, good cafe and toilets. There is also a large garden - takes a good while to walk around. The small train into town is a blast and the kids loved it!

The virtual reality experience was brilliant and I would recommend doing it before going into the caves to help set the scene - I didn’t think it would be very interesting but I was wrong and I was blown away by how good it was! Overall this was a great day out - plenty of parking - big wide parking spaces, about £5 (€7) all day.

To summarise, a great day out and well...

Well worth the visit but you need to be prepared to do a lot of walking up and downstairs. It is not suitable for those in wheelchairs or who cannot easily climb stairs. There are no lifts. Considering it's age, access is good and there are no issues with navigating around the caves. Plenty of opportunity to take photos too. There is an audio guide provided on a phone for you - just specify the language you require and the age group of the listener. There is also room where you can enjoy a VR experience with goggles and headphones covering the caves and the Nerja plaza by drone. You sit in a revolving chair and spin round to get the full 360 degree experience. There are clean...
