Veronica's as it's known locally is popular with families and couples visiting the nearby caves, dusty hikers, sweaty mountain bikers, and nearby ex-pats. Everyone is made welcome even if it's only for an ice-cream and thirsty dogs get a welcome bowl of water. The menu is quite simple but is freshly cooked and in industrial size portions. If you are after a light lunch you might want to share ('con partir') a salad and a pizza. The later are home made and are large with a thin base. If you do over order she will pack food up to take out. The food is very reasonably priced as are the drinks including all too drinkable wine. The seating is outside but with substantial sun, wind and rain protection. There is a dining room for the coldest winter days. Read moreFor starters when we arrived we were really hungry ,we got a menu I had cocktails, partner had beer ,daughter had Pepsi and a smoothie. We were sat outside after having visited nerja caves. We had a garlic bread until we could decide what to have this was at 4.15 , restaurant supposedly open until 6. A range of meal options from breakfasts to lunches, snacks to main meals - great range of wines but also love the cold beer served in an iced glass.
The staff are fantastic - great place for families and couples but can cater for parties, informal or formal. Food is good quality and fresh. Right next to Nerja Caves and bus station plus gateway to fantastic countryside walks and the village of Maro but as soon as you get through the gates, secluded and comfortable with wifi, shade, sun, fans outside and aircon in the conservatory area - really clean - a lovely place. Allow more time than you think - the service is great and quick but you will want to stay for more...
