PROS: 1. The university emphasizes a true work-to-life balance. In other words, it is not difficult as a student to find time to hang out with friends and engage in hobbies. Numerous classrooms have many international students. The University is safe with the ID cards students must use to enter in the building. CONS: 1. Most of the Spanish students my international peers and I came across were not friendly. Professors will respond to students' emails 30% of the time. At the beginning of the semester, many courses, which students registered for, were dropped. Thus, we had to scramble to rearrange our schedule while the semester had just started. If you fail your final exam, no matter how well you did in the course assignments/projects, you have failed the entire course. Unfortunately, there is no official date for students to receive their final grades, so they have to "guess" on when they should book their flight back home if they are an international student. They also do not allow exchange students to take exams at home if there is any emergency. Thus, they would have to stay in the city for one more month and rebook their flight if they would like to retake the exams. The students here are not serious about their work. The highest score is a 10, and the minimum score to pass is a 5. Most of my classmates and I get anywhere from a 0-6 on assignments and exams. In other words, they grade very harshly.
Overall, it was an ok experience. Just make sure you do your research before enrolling in...
