Playa de la Costilla — Attraction in Rota

No Place like home when the question of "best beach" is asked. But this is a very good beach, Rota is a family oriented place so there are many families on the beach, lots of kids, young adults and older people because the whole family goes to the beach together. Be careful, it's very common to see topless ladies so don't stare, that would be rude. Enjoy the view with your own family. The vino and sangria is delicious and try some tapas, go out on a limb and try the raw squid, enjoy an evening listening to a local singing and dancing. Costa Ballena, golf course is beautiful and well kept, go see the horse race on the beach. Try the wine at the many Bodegas. There are too many things to do, but enjoy as much as you can. If it's Feria, go out and dance and enjoy the night. Running of the Bulls, Tomatino, Christmas celebration at La Frontera. I love this place...

Vaya tela. No acabo de dejar atrás un chiringuito con su bolillón bolillón y ya me está llegando el la quiero a morir, con saturación de ayes, del siguiente. Bueno, seguimos por el "paseo marítimo/potro de tortura" Roteño. Batiburrillo de Alejandros Sanz, Estopas, Manás, canciones del verano, etc, que me machaca el tímpano, dispara mis niveles de vergüenza ajena e insulta mi limitada inteligencia.

Hablando de vergüenza ajena, me maravilla la conexión absoluta del artista chiringuitero con su entregada parroquia. Ya quisieran para sí esa entrega en sus conciertos muchos grupos consagrados.

Digno de mención es el criterio decibélico que se aplica en estas bacanales de copia y pega. No te puedes entonar, y con toda la razón del mundo, en la puerta de un bar con una soleá mal cantá (pero con mucho corazón y la aprobación total de tu Compadre) pero sí está permitido sufrir una tarde de playa atormentado por un Bisbal por un oído y por el Barrio por el otro.

Relatively unspoilt beaches in lovely rural setting. Beautiful! This place will not be everyone's cup of tea because of its isolation and lack of amenities.
