We stayed in Es Canar (September 2025) and took a leisurely walk to the Hippy Market, which I had really been looking forward to. I was hoping to meet some genuine hippies and see unique crafts and imaginative, traditional products to bring home as gifts. Unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. Most of the stalls were selling the same clothes and items that you can find in the shops on the main street leading up to the market, so nothing particularly special. There were a couple of original stalls, but the prices felt extortionate. It didn’t really have the Ibiza vibe I was hoping for. On the positive side, there is live entertainment, which was pleasant, and some food stalls as well. If you’re driving from another part of the island, parking nearby is about €5. I ended up buying a hand tie-dye T-shirt for €22 (which felt like the standard price, and nothing unique to Ibiza). If I had made a special trip from elsewhere on the island, I would have been very disappointed. As part of a late morning walk while already staying in Es Canar, it was fine—but far from the “must-see” experience I...
Read moreThis is my second review of this market now . The first one got deleted for some strange reason?? Look … if you’re staying in es Cana this is a great day out . It’s a short walk from the main beach and hotels and there is parking opposite the site for around 5 euros . If you are staying elsewhere on the island and are being badgered to pay for an excursion there it just ain’t worth it . The market itself has a few stand alone stalls but in reality every 5th or 6th stall is just the same old overpriced junk as the previous stall you walked past 2mins ago . And it’s not cheap . You will find the same “junk” cheaper in one of the little shops dotted about in the town . They have live entertainment at various points and times in the market which is fun to watch but don’t try and photograph the small “street” performers that are dotted about the place or you will have them ranting and raving about you paying them for the privilege. So to sum up if your staying in es Cana it’s well worth a visit, but coming in from other points in the island ……it just...
Read moreThe market was exactly what I expected. Years of trading have obviously shaped how the shopping experience is coordinated. If you expect to be able to amble around at your own pace, forget it. The whole market has its own pace. Accept that you are not going to be able to pass on stalls that hold no interest for you. The market's slow pace ensures that the stalls get a proper investigation. I totally agree with the way the market has evolved. The variety of goods available was exceptional. Unfortunately for me, there was a mass of similar stalls selling basically the same items. It was an experience to actually visit the market. Hippies however, for me are long gone. Good luck all the same. We returned later in the afternoon and found the market considerably quieter. Compared to visiting at the busy time, ambling around was a joy. The photos posted were from our second...
