This is the last touristic attraction that I have visited in 2 days in Segovia. After 10 museums /churches/palace/factories, this museum was a good summary of the life and history in Segovia. There's a great part dedicated to the wool production (that one can't find in the other museums). Several pieces are described in English and audioguide was not available) although some items had the headphones sign beside. There's good internet coverage, one can willingly use Google Translate to scan the Spanish writings and better understand the story. Read moreA very good local history museum, with artifacts dating from the Magdalenian period to the present. Strong prehistoric collection. Placards in the permanent exhibition are bilingual. Also offers temporary exhibitions--the current one (June 2022) is on the history of Cuellar Vaccea.
Admission cost is one Euro. The museum closes at 1400 daily. Plan about two to two and a half hours if any in your traveling group have a strong interest in prehistory or Roman artifacts, else one hour. Has a good view of the Alcazar from the second floor terrace.
