"Not the best" in my 10 year old's words - we have been to a few (although this was the first one in a Spanish country) Glad we bought our tickets on line as the queue to get in was much smaller (we arrived about 15 mins before the park opened) . The park was very busy - too busy to cater for the number of rides it had to offer. Even an hour before the park closed the queues for the rides were horrendous. There is no option to decide on a date when you book your tickets so consequently entrance numbers can't be spread out throughout the week. Every park we have previously visited requires you to pick a date. You have to rent your floats/mat (never had to do that before) so with the waiting times at rides you simply don't get value for it. Check the ride requirements on floats on line before you go so you can decide which floats to hire when you get there. Saves a heap of time and stops you getting more than you need. There are floats free but as the park got busier they are impossible to find. Although you do not need to hire a sunlounger, the ground to put down a towel is under trees and the grass is non existent in some areas and is sloped. So no alternative really. We paid for 2 but after about 3 hours another attendent who clearly did not take the trouble to check that there was a tag attached to both the loungers we had asked for money. I told her I had paid and seen her colleague attach the tag. Then she saw the tag. No apology for embarrassing me or disturbing my peace. The strange thing was there were several loungers which were occupied by Spanish families which had no tags. Hmm! maybe locals get privaleges? On the subject of the staff, no smiles, no curtesy, not a single one of them! Felt like we were just an inconvenience and they just wanted our money. They seemed to be friendly with the Spanish guests so maybe it was because we were tourists. I would like to hope not. Rather 'cringe' dance act in both big pools during the day, it felt like we were in an all inclusive holiday resort but the guests seem to love it so I am in the minority there. So why have I given it 2 stars? The place was clean, saw a worker take a pool sample so I am hoping he was checking to see if it was in the correct 'condition' The rides were OK - when you can get on them. There are so many things the park could do better to improve their rating but I guess it depends what...
Read moreOverpriced for what it is. 8 year old has to pay adult prices because it's their height not there age you pay for. Some people turned around and left at the gate when they found out what their child would have to pay. Our daughter was going in with here friend who was the same age but because of the height difference one gets a wristband as a child and the other one doesn't. This means inside the park my daughter couldn't go on the smaller slides with her friend as you are only aloud on with a child wristband. So gave up on that early on. Of course there were other kids on it that I found out were even older than my daughter and were the same height but magically they had a child wristband on so we're aloud on the kids slides. Then I figured it out. They were Spanish! Then of course my daughter wasn't keen on going on the big adult slides as they were to big for her. Spoke to the managers and explained the situation and asked why they could go on the small slides together. Not interested. Pointed out about the other kids on it. Not interested. Pointed out she had payed full price and couldn't use anything. Not interested. The other ripoff is that you have to hire your own rubber ring to go down the slides because even if the park isn't busy they have so few rings that are free to use that there are long queues to get one. This looks deliberate so you have to hire one. They also charge you to sit on a sun bed. Turns out an expensive day when you add all the extras in and my daughter hardly used a thing bar the wave pool. The most worrying thing was the fact that there were photographers walking around taking pictures of my daughter and her friend without asking permission. I caught them at it when I came back from my lounger to find a lady taking pictures of them. I asked what she was doing and she pointed to her badge saying 'official'. I told her to stop. This happened a couple of other times during the day. Sometimes they asked, sometimes they didn't. Of course all they are trying to do is make more money from you by selling the pics to you on the way out. But taking pics of minors without adult permission is very poor indeed. Was not happy and...
Read moreWe went to this water park, which is about an hour's drive from San Jose. My partner's son has learning disabilities and is also autistic, he likes paddling in water.
We arrived to find at least 5 disabled car park spaces, clearly sign posted. There was no queue to get in when we arrived. We walked from the ticket office and there were changing rooms and toilets just before you entered the main area of the park.
We were given a map showing what sections were suitable for people with disabilities. It has 3 pools that anyone with a disability can go into on lower ground. All walking areas are flat ground suitable for a wheelchair and prams further up in the park are the water slides. Which is crowded by lots of children and teenagers. We went on the first day of the summer holiday and it was busy. I can only imagine what it is going to be like in July and August.
You can hire a single donut inflatable for €8 double donut €10 , €12 for a triple donut. I think you can hire a mat, maybe to use on the slide, €7. There is a place you can buy food from, not sure about the prices, but the food looked okay. I saw a few youngsters eating their own food they brought with them.
I paid €6.90 for 2 sun loungers, they tie a blue band around them once you pay and give you a receipt, which you need to keep.
We paid £61.00 for 3 of us, we had a 33% disability discount for my partner's son.
It's very clean and they have lots of life guards who are attentive. In one of the pools staff were doing aqua Zumba. You can spend all day there and the children play. There are a couple if not more gift shops where you can buy bracelets and items for the pool.
Definitely worth a visit for adults and children. Adults can also go the slides. Some of my images had people in, have taken them out if the area looks...
